Why is Elixir of Wrath so strong and Elixir of Sorcery so garbage?

Let's compare the two

Wrath: +30AD 15% Lifesteal 15% Spellvamp

Sorcery:

  • 50 AP
  • 15 mana regen
  • 25 true damage on hit (5 sec cd)

Why, when AD champs already have access to a constantly supply of lifesteal pumped into so many items, do they need even more from their elixir?

Mages, who could actually benefit from sustain items (only having Hextech Gunblade, a borderline trashtier item for most mages) get 5 true dmg/second at most, when targets have 2k health minimum?

As for the mana regen, mages don't run out of mana anymore with Morellos returning 20% on takedown. Just more blatant bias from RiotHQ

the 30AD and 50AP are practically equivalent in terms of power, so the two items compared are simply put:

TL:DR "Do you want to heal for 15% of the damage you deal, or deal 1.25% of their max health every 5 seconds?

Most mages usually do their dmg in one big chunk, and usually aren't that low when they do it. It's a really noticeable effect, and AP is strong because it does more than just straight damage - on supports it's stronger heals/shields/utility.

AD is just.. AD.

25 true damage is literally less than an auto attack.
