This is literally what every single Ekko I see does From my own d3-d1 elo games to the Challenger/masters ones i watch on streams

And then they usually roam or look to make a pick on the enemy jungler after shoving in lane

non-interactive lanes are only unfun if they cannot be dealt with ekko wasting his Q everytime on minions makes him an easy target for most laners

without forgetting that i never saw an ekko oneshotting a minion wave

He oneshots the casters like most mages post lvl 9 but before then he pushes harder than most mids usually do I don't have an issue with the play style I'm just calling it for what it is

That's likely because of the lane opponent.

If the Ekko is given the chance to do that, chances are either his opponent is trying to kill him constantly and he backs off, or his enemy is playing incredibly safe.

I have played ekko every now and then mid lane, and every lane opponent does similar things once they buy a item 3165 . Just constant waveclear with spell and back off unless you get too close, in which case CC > nuke.

Ekko's Q has range with the extension, yes, but uhhh... it's both delayed and slow compared to other mid laners.

clearly i'm talking about ekko starting at level 1 2 shotting a wave with Q using that rune set up and that's all he does during laning at almost no mana cost, the same style of play that has gotten a number of mid lane champs dumpstered

There are tons of mid lane mages that can't wave clear effectively. Vladimir my one trick is a good example.

A lot of typical meta mid laners often include high waveclear champions to avoid the hassle of farming. Syndra Ahri Orianna Viktor for instance often get a single AP item then wipe wave after wave with spells.

Galio's waveclear is overtuned and is being targeted via Doran's nerfs.

Morde is manaless.

Syndra not really.

Annie CSs well with her Mana refund on Q, but she doesn't push like Ekko.

Karthus not really, not until E starts doing work.

Kayle does pretty well, yea.

Didn't/Isn't Rumble's level 1 shove being nerfed?

Taliyah yes

Ziggs goes oom real quick doing what Ekko does.

Am I the only one who doesn't experience this when playing Ekko? Usually I'm able to trade and get some kills early if I land my W. Could you explain more about what the problem is, or propose a solution to fix it?

I just got Ekko and I don't feel like his wave clear makes him OP and it's not like I'm scared when I play against him. Also whoever posted this forgets that there is also someone else in lane so unless they are a potato(The other laner not who posted this) you should be pressing more than Q.

Xerath can't only Q the wave early. He needs at least Morello to kill the casters with one Q (unless he got fed early ofc).

His Q also goes up to a 120 mana cost, so if he is clearing every wave with a Q -> W for instance, he'll have to recall in a couple minutes. If he gets to proc his passive, he's obviously getting in range of at least a minion, which is an opportunity to hit him back. Range is also pretty much his entire advantage.

Ye just that Lux E has like half of Ekkos Q base dmg at rank 1 and higher cooldown, Ahri and Vel Koz have less dmg and less range too, LB has to dash into the wave, Annie, Azir and Anivia cant wave clear and Ziggs and Syndra dont hit the whole wave and dont have as much dmg.

So Ahris 880 range Q has more range than Ekkos almost 1100 range Q? And Anivia/Azir can wave clear pre 6? Cause we are talking about early laning phase, I thought that was obvious lol.

He's actually right. Ekko Q is longer than Ahri Q if you include its slow part, and Vel's waveclear is his W and/or E, both of which are not very long ranged.
