Having triple AP being an automatic loss is really cool

When the fuck is this going to be looked at? Having triple AP on any team is usually a guaranteed loss, because it's so stupidly easy for the triple AD teams we see in 2/3 games to itemize against.

AP is pretty much shit right now.

oh no party composition matters in a team game.

Where the best composition doesn't involve any AP.

Except no, 2/3 games at Diamond+ are triple AD compositions. You can't itemize against AD as easily as you can AP.

the second part of what you said is true, but that doesn't make the first part true. 3 AD is better than 3 AP, but it's still not good and it's def not 2/3 diamond games. you pick rammus or taric into that shit and freelo baby

I agree pretty much.

Two major reasons.

  • one, Maw Sterakks. Big obvious one. Getting hexdrinker with simply 38 cs at 5 mins from longsword start. It's kinda OP for it to be a near negatron + fat shield as early as that

  • less obvious reason number 2. The gutting of Last Whisper. Against zero tank comps you no longer need this line of items. This frees up ADCs to itemize 2 MR items or an MR item + 30% lifesteal. In a sense it makes playing AP champs reliant on the existence of tank allies. Makes AP top less viable overall. If you had a pyramid with 3 classes, ADC/Tank/APCarry the APCarry has moved to the least good spot as a supplemental role to affect tanks. Tanks have been promoted this season to the strongest spot in the pyramid. Even though they always have had, and still have the mid game for sure. Tanks dominate the ADCs mid game and for even longer if they have no AP threat to worry about.

When I say tanks though I mean season 6 tanks and ranged bruisers and such that kill you :^) , if you're a lower dmg utility tank gtfo or play support xd

Now it could be this is a better balance of classes tho to keep 1 of each in each lane and we're just used to AP being op and double ap being normal. I'm not sure honestly.

I have to agree here, triple ap IS an automatic loss without massive snowballing, double ap is already very dubious since 1 item can completely negate the damage of 2 people on your team.

MR is a massive hard counter to AP champions, unless they build full glass cannon, you don't have to worry about them doing damage to you. Not to mention their items are much more expensive.

Armor is not a massive hard counter to AD. AD's can consistently do damage without waiting for cooldowns, and ad items are much cheaper than AP.

The only reason a single ap mid is viable is because them wasting an item slot on you is a win. 1 ap vs 0 ap, the 1 ap team does not have to ever build MR while the 0 ap team might have to if the ap gets fed. (exception, ad auto champions that can massively deal magic damage)
