I mean, if you really wanted to get behind this conspiracy that Riot wants to hide this part of the system then you're gonna have a tough time justifying it when Riot point-blank points this out in their FAQ of the system for the announcement post:

I'm not saying there's a conspiracy. I hate conspiracy theorists. It just irks me that they keep calling it "The 10 ban system!!11!" and then showing a perfect 10-ban lobby with no overlaps, and then putting (bans can overlap) in parentheses like it's the small print in a scam commercial. They don't even address overlapping bans in the video they just posted on Facebook.

Riot even said in an earlier thread that "10 bans" was probably a bad name for it.

it's called marketing, you show the flashiest and best examples of a product in order for it to be best-received by the people you are selling it to

they are hardly trying to "hide" the aspect that overlapping bans mean you don't get all 10 bans though, as they've specifically stated that fact in pretty much every post about the system that they've had. It doesn't make any sense to add extra air-time to point out the specifics of a system in a promotional video.

It's important to note that these videos are promotional videos, not education videos. The long texts and FAQ's attached to every promotional video are the educational parts where you learn about the system, and every single one of those have been clear from the start that overlapping bans can happen.

If anyone doesn't know how the system works, it's because they've been too lazy to actually read the article. It's dumb and lazy to expect all the information to be in their 1:30 long video and claim they are hiding it from the community after it's been pointed out specifically (multiple times) in their in-depth articles.

and FAQ's are not "footnotes", they are literally singled-out important details about the product that the customer should know in which they specifically made it easy to find the answer to...not some small-text, bottom of the page tidbit that doesn't look important and is designed to be glossed over...

tl;dr: They aren't hiding it, they've specifically pointed out that aspect of the system in the educational text attached to every promotional video. Promotional videos don't include in-depth details/exceptions for the product it's advertising, so you can't complain that they don't include a specific detail about the system.
