In Season Two Supports were Ward Slaves and had to carry active items despite not wanting the stats
And in this season we have even the mage supports rushing two TANK items...
It appears like we have kinda come full circle...

I hate
support
I hate
in general
Well, that's a side effect of having CertainlyT design literally anything, even if partially it seems.
Zyra was intended for midlane, now is going rampant on support. Yasuo was supposed to be a "melee adc" with the windwall being a tool to compete on bot, but instead runs around in mid. Or lets all take a moment to remember his "super innovative" Mordekaiser rework...
I reached challenger playing Yasuo AD carry
Nothing wrong with it just requires lifesteal quints

what a beast.

Zyra's been a support for almost 4 years now. This is nothing new.
She was originally a midlane mage tho.
he did gnar too right?
Except Yasuo was always meant to go mid. Where on Earth did you get the idea that he was meant to be a botlane ADC?
Also, what about Thresh and new Warwick? Those are both CertainlyT works and everyone thinks they're great.
Better than
support.
I personally don't like either but Zyra at least has more utility and doesn't always build full AP. I've actually seen a Zyra support build
and/or
.
The only Lux "supports" I've seen start
, go full AP and have the mindset "I'll carry so my ADC is useless 20 - 30 minutes into the game"
Hasn't happened often, but when it does happen, ugh.
Better than
support.

The people you play Lux support with are stupid then. Lux is an incredibly viable support, and she's got a ton of utility, as well as longer range and more poke than Zyra. Just because someone builds her stupidly doesn't make her bad. She actually utilizes Redemption a helluva lot better than Zyra on principle that she actually has a shield in her kit.
This. I build her (as support) around her shield and CC.

The Likes of Zyra building classical support items, kinda reminds me of the older definition of mage support.
They'd have some poke, though never at APC levels. Really they were mages who had both CC and Damage, and when played in the support role, they forgo the damage, but had all the CC. And as a result, served as disruptors and created picks. (Think Morgana with her 2+ second snare.)
Kinda reminds me how the Malz support parried that in the LCS. He did too much damage while locking his opponents up with his ult. So they nerfed him, but the LCS teams still found use in his Ult lock up, while building him as a classical support not for damage.

most luxes ive got go spellthiefs and become a nightmare with the likes of jhin.
and
are just as much "tank items" as
and
Just because an item has HP on it doesnt make it a "tank item".
has as much, or less HP than

Those are not "tank items"
How many HP items do I build when I am ADC?
And how many do I build when I am a burst mage?
And how many as assassin?
The number of tank stats supports pile up with these items is enough to qualifiy these with with tank lable.
ADCs tend not to build health items at all. Unless you're
or
in that case they can get
.
Mages (yes, even burst mages) can build
,
, and
.
Assassins also buy
.
According to your analogy, enough items with HP will make someone a tank.
Anyways, you are comparing the UTILITY class to the DAMAGE-DEALING classes. It's like comparing apples and oranges, but the apples heal people and the oranges blow people up.
All the way back to having three mandatory items you need to grab not including a moneymaking support item and boots :P
Can I at least have stacking GP5 items back then? I mena, if we already go back in time we might as well bring HoG back...

I wonder if there'll be a day when I can use my GP5 quints again? :P
Ah yes, I have some as well... even with matching gp5 yellows. Maybe I should try them again? xD
make sure n grab your armor reds bro!
inb4 : "we've introduced a new item slot for all champions, the redemption slot..."
Only two? lul
? Explain? I've been away from the game for a few days.
had to carry active items despite not wanting the stats
Wait, we don't do that anymore? I don't want health regen on my Soraka nor heal power on my Thresh, but I still have to buy
on both of them.
how could you turn down health regen on soraka? she uses it like its mana
(I see your point, just maybe pick a different healer)
Bonus health/mana regen scales off base stats. Soraka has the lowest base HP regen in the game BY FAR, making itemizing health regen on her complete garbage.
Sorry, I didnt mean to imply that soraka itemizes for health regen. I was just saying that out of the healer supports that you could have used in your example, you chose the one that spends its own health. It doesnt really matter how terribly the stat scales with the champion when you consider that a soraka with the bonus gains health slightly faster than the one without it and thus spends less time below 5% HP which leads to a higher uptime on her heal. While it may only be a fraction of a second faster, in this game, that could make a big difference.
The point that I'm trying to make here is that while it may not be a super impactful stat for the squishy healers, if it happens to be on an item that they buy anyway, she would be the last of the squishy healers to complain about it.
