Matchmaking when high MMR / win streak...

Hi all, so after the placement, I have been placed from plat 4 to gold 3. But my MMR stayed plat 4 (owing to op.gg, and also I win 25 or more LP per win, and lose 10 or so when lose). I had a decent win streak (5 in a row), then I started getting weird match-up. Literally, every lane would lose hard (CS, kills...) without any jungler influence, like pre level 4. On top of that, AFK's, toxicity, and int. (0/25/0 botlane, or 0/10/0 toplane...)

Went on a 7 loss streak. Feels weird to dance around 50% winrate overall, but with win streak, lose streak, win streak, lose streak...

And games feels often one-sided. Like, it is snowbally. Which is not enoyable, winning or losing.

I managed to win a 8k gold deficit at 24 min, with a 19/3/14 KDA, many drakes and nashors in one of those weirds games. Well that was a good game.

But my question is: WTF is going on with the match-making? Isn't it supposed to give you 50% chance of win EACH game based on your MMR? Are these weird streak really random? Anyone know?

no mm will stright out fuck you if you're on a win streak, or on the flip side, give you a match that you almost CANNOT LOSE because it's manditory that everyone sits at about 50% win rate. I have a screenshot here on the forums of me, a silver IV, being placed vs a MASTER TIER aswell as plats to ensure i lost that match. the MMR difference was 900+ MMR infavor of the MASTER TIER's team... MM dont give a fuck if you have fun as long as your win ratio is as close to 50% as possible...

That seems to make some sense! ty

EDIT: I just noticed that, on this game, my team were all gold, and enemy team were all platinum. I don't know about the actual MMR though. http://matchhistory.oce.leagueoflegends.com/en/#match-details/OC1/162377865/200842675?tab=overview

You are at a 50% winrate...if every game is 50% chance to win, you can't expect to win them all...

Absolutely! I agree.

But what I am trying to say is: why isn't it 1 win, 1 lose, 1 win, 1 lose (or say, 2 win or 3 win, then 2 lose and 3 lose) in mostly close games... But instead, big streak, and these streak don't feel fair games, but one sided. (all lanes win hard or lose hard -without the junglers influence)

Should take a stats course if you want to learn this.

I am actually a graduated civil engineer, and regarding stats, I am pretty Okay. But anyway, thanks for trying =)

All of your games being snowball-ish implies that you don't know how to group up properly. This game isn't about individual skill only, grouping up will make snowballing go in your favor more.

While I agree that group up is important, that wasn't the issue I was mentioning. I was really talking about the very first minutes of the game, before any ganks or grouping.

But I know it may sound that I am a frustrated player like complaining about elo hell. It is not!

What Luner Hunter described is more like it. And you can feel this in the very first minute of a game in particular, when you see lane dying 1v1 at 2 min (all lanes), or being behind by 20 cs after a few minutes, when nothing happened yet (no gank, no group up, simply early laning).

What I mean is that if you want to be a great player you'll have to work on your mentality and 100% of your focus will be on what YOU can do, not what your teammates can. Which means, if someone feeds at level 2 and you absolutely can't do anything, then it isn't worth mentioning. It's out of your control so why bother, right?

I mentioned grouping because that's how you repair the damage done and prevent enemy snowballing. Enemy can't snowball with only kills. If you picture your last enemy snowball, do you think of someone getting all the kills? Not mainly, you'll think of enemy standing grouped at your inhibitor at minute 12. This means that grouping is a big deal.

I used to be one of those guys who doesn't understand what I was doing wrong, because my individual skill was so great. Why can't everyone keep up with my level of individual skill - then we'd win.... Right? Wrong. After I learned grouping, I had super little snowballs against me, and most of my games snowball in my favor, or at the very least they are even games. SOLELY because I started grouping. (Note: I'm using grouping as a general word here for a bunch of actions. Grouping doesn't mean standing ARAM for 10 minutes, I'm talking about useful grouping and teamplay)
