What do we think of Mordekaiser's shielding passive?

I hardly ever see hm these days, but laned against one last night and the amount of durability he got from his shield passive was just insane to deal with. Made me wonder if it shouldn't have a cooldown time or something.

there is a reason why you don't see him often, why want to make him even weaker than he already is?

I suppose one could make an argument that he has a niche as an extremely durable lane pusher, but this guy survived a 2v1 tower dive, netting a double kill off us, when he was at 15% HP, all from spamming skills to keep his shield up, and dueling him or trying to gank him was an exercise in futility and aggravation because of how much free durability his passive gave him.

Although considering his age, meta state, and older model, I have a feeling Morde is probably on the Gameplay Update/Rework list anyway. *shrug8

If he was at 15% HP, then spamming his skills would effectively reduce his health down to 5%. If both of you can't deal enough damage to kill him there, and won't use CC during a turret dive, then I think it's more of a problem on your part. If he's going to have low range, and no CC, no gapclosers and no mobility, then removing his durability would leave no more reason to play him. Consider your changes before proposing them.

He would still have heavy waveclear, an Armor/MR defensive steroid that combines with durability items to make him very rugged, and the power to help his team by stealing the enemy ADC.

Waveclear is hardly a rare attribute for a mid laner to have. And the armour and MR buff he has isn't stellar. Not sure what champions you play that can be considered worse than Mordekaiser without a passive shield.

his spells cost health his passive health regen is non existent he pushed lane to shield himself he has no cc he has no mobility skill, W is crap >_<

his shield is fine and he is quite weak, that doesnt mean he will lose lane to you but more often than not he will lose game for his team

A cooldown would be nice, considering at lvl 1 it can essentially block one spell

We think it's fine, although the rest of his kit could stand a buff.
