pay attention to where the enemy are last know. If they just got dragon, it is not a good idea to try and ward the bot river bush.

Warding can be really rough, especially when the enemy team is prone to going MIA. I feel this post in my soul.

Tips for avoiding deaths while warding: -Tell a laner or your Jungler that you're going to ward, and ping where you want to go. That can help them orient themselves in a direction to help you if you get caught out. -Ward deep when your lane has pushed, and stay closer when you're playing more defensively. Even if your ADC is fine on their own for a moment, you run a higher risk of getting jumped on when the enemy is on your side of the map because if they see you on one of their wards, they'll rotate to trap you. -Pay attention to what objectives the enemy was around or got recently. -Clear enemy wards constantly, even those on the way to your warding destination. They have less of a chance of being there if they don't know you're coming! -If the Jungler is MIA, was last seen at his Buff on Bottom side, and the enemies are suddenly playing differently, then you should avoid warding. You're better safe than sorry, so ping caution in the area and maybe ask for back-up to ward.

Also, If you're having a very hard time with it, try playing Tanks for supports. It's easier to survive a Rengar jumping out of a bush at you as Braum rather than Janna.

Communication and trust is the best way to avoid deaths when dying. Don't be afraid to ask for help getting in a deep ward. A duo or some friends can also help you boost your esteem until you feel comfortable in your warding abilities.

You'll get the hang of it! [slayer-jinx-catface]

If you don't see your enemy then don't ward but don't overextend. Or take an ally with you. Or fire a skillshot in the bush and see if you get gold if you're a support

A lot of warding comes down to knowing where the enemy can or cannot be. For example, if the enemy jungler just ganked top and you can see the mid laner in mid then you know that you can ward bot side river or even ward the enemy bot side jungle safely.

The rule of thumb is that if they could be there it's safe to assume they are there. It's kind of like playing that Windows game minefield. Just stay away from the areas that could result in your death and wait to ward until the enemy shows themselves.

If you're really blacked out in vision the only way to ward is with a group. Also, there's no full proof strategy. Sometimes you just get unlucky.

Usually, getting caught while out trying to ward is a product of two things: Either, lack of wards currently on the map, and hence lack of knowledge about where the enemy currently is. Or, lack of map awareness, resulting in same lack of knowledge problem, but the latter at least, is easier to solve. Be sure to watch the map so you have a feel for where roughly they are (and hence are not). Avoid trying to ward areas you expect the enemy is in unless you have enough backup nearby.
