Feels like riot has been putting more effort in killing per champ role diversity than improving

Since they made the claim of wanting to work into improving champs having more diverse role options it really feels like they have been actively trying to but a bad effort towards that. Like someone only pushing a sliding door and complaining that it can't be opened.

There was the first good step of looking to fix the mistake from hard nerfing ekko out of jungle. then they went to starting with zrya and morg attempting to force them into the jungle, then vi in the top lane. watching these attempts happen was like watching them with the example i gave like they were pushing a sliding door saying it can't open but oh well we tried.

I ahve seen them actively target nerf out of the option of having jungle as an off role. And now we are seeing work put into drop out everyone that isn't an early game duelist pce out. All of these junglers are power farm focused which riot has been continually nerfing since the addition of plants, adding the chickens, and the splitting krugs. Frankly killing off these types of simply because they don't like the passive nature they take early but not caring that their passive nature is out of need rather than the meta.

I completely agree.

1.) They use 'whats popular' as a balancing metric far too often, this leads to balancing decisions that homogenize the game, rather than diversify it.

2.) Items or Runes or even Champions that are hot garbage are left untouched for large windows of time. (Ohmwrecker, Lissandra, Wukong, Phase Rush)

3.) Mana changes fly directly in the face of having any hope of 'games without marksman' being a reality. Again. This prevents creative building and enforced a very basic meta where the ADC needs to be protected at any cost and teamfights revolve around keeping them safe.

Reverting Skarner to pre juggernaut would be a simple step in the right direcrion...

item 3070 Skarner item 3070

This is a long overdue revert, Riot. He's more than suffered enough because of your infatuation with stupid mini-games attached to kits.

I wanna see some change up in bot lane for the adc role. I liked when Mordekaiser and ziggs were being played bot since it actually did change up the game as a whole.

they did get played bot but the problem was that the only way for them to function was with either a specialized support or overpowered numbers

the lcs showed off his strengths and then he was put to the nerf bat

I don't know what happened to ziggs

Ziggs was picked during the "ADC 2k17 lulz" and when the crit items were buffed he vanished.

Right now, the overall state of the jungle's impact on lanes earlygame is the first priority. Riot can always buff up the weaker junglers later on.

They seem to only want the diversity they want.

Like buffing ap shyvanna and ad Kennen this coming patch.

While nerfing 30 mages builds that don't have mana.

2 steps forward, 30 steps back.

Well. I wanted to see more ap Kennen. Im mean good old ap Kennen that actually salt any meaningful damage and has been a threat. I remember the first time I played against him and seeing my hp bar being melted. It looked smooth powerful and beautiful. Now Kennen even if fed barely tickles with just a slight defensive picked up even by squishes and addition of sustain, heals and shields don't help either. I wish the times when Kennen could 1v5 when extremely fed came back instead of trying to force some weird as Kennen build that has nothing to do with mage being in bot lane anyway.

The fact of the matter is, Riot's focus on cohesive and balance-able kits actually is constraining champions more than ever. You more often than not have to give up one for the other when defining a champion's strengths and weaknesses in such a way that their kit will not randomly break or develop a toxic play style every time an new item is added or something gets updated. I know champion versatility is a good thing, but it has been a while since a new item accidentally threw a champion's win rate to 55% or created a weird bruiser/AP build on a champion that can make everyone's life miserable with no counter play.

Not every game has to be like Dota2, games like say, Battlerite is perfectly fine without having each pick being outlandishly broken on their own to somehow balance against each other (in fact, you'd say each of their pick is significantly weaker than League's champions due to the rather high time-to-kill and not having any kit overloading in that game).

The issue isn't at the fundamental, it's what Riot did with it.
