What do you like about preseason changes?

Yeah, I know. We're all here to bitch about the changes and how they suck. And I do hate a lot of the preseason stuff, mostly masteries, the state of a bunch of champions, and the fact it's even more unstable than before. But there are actually things that were made that I like.

The arpen changes. Oh I see you coming to say "Last whisper was way better, it sucks now" or "Mundo unkillable", which is partly true. But when you play a tanky guy, it is so much more healthy to have resists that actually matter, and it really creates a choice "Do i want to overcome the resists which will take a slot that will be very unefficient against non-tanks?" instead of old lw "hum let's buy that, it's good against squishies cause of their base armor and even better against tanks". (I'll still hate %health true damage, but Riot's not gonna remove their favourite mechanic soon)

The nerf of botrk. It's balanced now, for an item that gives kite active, lifesteal, powerspike, %health, attackspeed (too versatile should not be strong).

The nerf of black cleaver. BC was stupid because it gave a great powerspike, with good build path... AND is probably the best late game item a juggernaught would dream of. 20% cdr and (potentially AOE depending on kit) huge armor shred? on an item with a lot of health? Transformed lanebullies into actual lategame monsters. Ofc it's still decent but more in the niche it should be in (only offensive item, or good on champions that have great synergy such as wukong/garen)

The diversification of flat arpen items, leading to an itemization that's more about assassinating low base stats target and is unefficient against targets with resists. There again, assassins are better at their place when they're supposed to destroy squishies and somewhat struggle against armored targets.

Ofc I am probably a little bit biased because I love playing bruisers and I like feeling tanky (looking at what I said I effectively liked all that was a buff to tanky champions), also I hate kiting champs, and there are a lot of things I dislike : (nerfs to zhonya, random nerfs to champions that never see the spotlight while buffing popular champions that everyone plays (???), short games, weak towers, the random changes to minions when behind, rift herald, the nerfs to merctreads (WHYYYY), the buff to ranged champions lvl 1 AD, the overbuff of guinsoo's (I was one of the guys that suggested changes to Guinsoo's but not those kind of gross insane base stats, could be less abusable with lower brute stats and a little scaling stats with lower impact as a powerspike, such as mixed arpen), and many others I don't have in mind right now ; plus all the things I disliked from last season, being mostly mobility creep, %health true dmg, some champions.

Overall I don't think this is such a marksman season. They were actually rendered somewhat more healthy, now that the rapidfire+shiv stacking has been removed. And once individual champions rework were balanced out because they had unbalanced numbers (thinking mostly of rework release Quinn/Graves), I think it looks promising.

And you, what do you like about the preseason? And dislike, if you wish to talk about that, though I think many threads are for that already ^^

I personally find the masteries interesting but probably is going to be hard to balance.

Corki and Graves are nice.

All other changes are not what I had in mind for the game getting better to play.

I both enjoy and hate the vision changes. I enjoy them because one player can't ward the whole map for their team. I hate it because when your teammates aren't warding, you can't ward the map for your team. :D

About vision, I somewhat like it but it's a bit of an oversimplification. People that bought wards are kinda punished by this change. And what I really dislike is the total absence of any thing to deal with stealth champions when you have 6 slots. Pink ward trinkets would be welcome, even if they have much higher CD than normal trinket, just to be able to fight stealth. The problem isn't really huge right now cause games are shorter, but when 6 items are reached, it's just an insane buff to Vayne Khazix Akali (though the last 2 aren't so strong right now)

I like the mastery changes, I think they have a lot of potential. I'm not sure how I feel abt the weak towers yet, I like that mages auto attacks actually do dmg to them now, and I hate the changes to vision.

I'm liking the fact that ADCs are more relevant. In the tank era, it was either pick a hyper carry or get rekt. And the early game ADCs were practically feast or famine. (Cait, Draven, MF).

I like how champions are having their own unique qualities which provide counterplay to the champions the boards qq about like poppy vs rengar for example.

I don't like how thunderlords decree practically makes MF and Lucian extremely obnoxious and unbearable in lane.

I like how fast games go. It makes winning lane more rewarding and made assassins much more relevant

I like how tp timers were nerfed

I don't like how games end fast. It makes all the farm junglers seem horrible and now all the bank /camp heavy junglers like shack or reksai more common.

I think pushing hard emphasis on different playstyles for adcs was a pretty cool thing. Though I'm uber sad cause Sivir and Ezreal, two of my favorites, got nerfed like all hell so far.

But one of my biggest thumbs up are the eyestones. I've had this exact idea for so long, but Riot finally put them in and I'm excited. Pretty much all my main supports are item dependant so having to buy 2 different support items was crippling them. I never got either support item past tier 2 last season for most games.
