What's up with the winrates?

How is it that teemo has still one of the highest top rating? I thought he was literally dead in higher elo's because of vision changes and from what i have played with him, i am sure that he is just not viable top pick anymore. Darius has been dominating everywhere you look but champs like yasuo/ryze/ poppy have such a low winrate and are the one's facing nerfs in the recent patches. Something just doesn't add up. I know winrates are not absolute but at the moment they are not even an good indicator of the champ's performance. I just don't believe in them anymore.

care to explain anyone? and please no bull crap about bronze can't do this and that so winrate is different. I am sure some of the winrates are taken from only higher elo's and the fact these low winrate champs are getting nerfed doesn't make sense. If they are already so bad at higher elo's, nerfing them even more is "illogical"?

Win rate isn't everything. There's a lot of different things that go into champ tweaks.

Numbers such as winrate by games played, winrate according to skill maxing order and ban rate can tell a lot about a champion.

Teemo has a very dedicated playerbase that enjoy watching the world burn, of course they get very good at channeling his power.

In the cases od Yasuo/Ryze/Poppy the nerfs and tweaks are due to frustrations vs them, which shows in their ban rates. A perma pick/banned champ isn't good for game health, so they tweak those champs.

I agree, these champs may have low winrate but they have a high playrate and banrate which may explain why they are getting nerfed or are nerfed. Teemo though is only viable in lower elo's and if it wasn't for these dedicated players i am sure he would have had a buff already.

Because overall win rates can be very misleading. Overall win rates are highly influenced by play percentage. A much better indicator of champion health is "main win rate", the win rate that people who have 100+ games with the champion have.

A lot of balance decision are also driven by the professional scene. Ryze and Poppy are near permanent pick/ban status right now in competative.

I made video that kind of talks about this topic if you're interested. https://youtu.be/yvy-DAhrBoA

I hope that helps. Also, I recommend rewording your last sentence. "More stupider" is not proper english and it doesn't help your post.

Thank you for the correction and the video. I really need to know how riot buffs and nerfs stuff because sometimes i get enraged with their decisions which maybe is due to my own lack of understanding. Although if anything, i do believe that they wait too long to nerf champs that are OP until they make gameplay less enjoyable for those who play balanced champs. Vi, heca and Darius are currently doing that. It's not even a game where you ban a champ that counters your particular chosen champ but a set of champs that are strong overall, regardless if they lane at your current chosen lane or are jungler.

Surrender at 20 is a really good site to get some insight into buffs/nerfs. They will frequently link context from Rioters on why they are targeting certain champions. If a buff/nerf doesn't make sense its usually because of competitive play so checking out who the power picks are at the pro level will usually clear up some of the confusion. Sometimes though it does feel like some of the nerfs/buffs are completely random or that Riot plays favorites with certain champs.

Teemo was bugged recently (which is why they disabled him).

If he was in a bush, he would be constantly restealthing (between autoattacks) and have his attack speed steroid active the entire time.
