If anybody's even slightly dedicated to a champion, they basically can't participate in hextech crafting.

It would be far from a more efficient way to get chests. It would just make it so you don't have to stop enjoying the game to have a chance to get them.
Consider how long it takes chests to 'recharge.' Each time you get an S+, you would have that amount of time each time before you have a shot at getting another, essentially wasting 3 charges for that person, so its one-trick or bust.
For the people that already have most of the chests from a variety of champions, this wouldn't help them because they already complain about having too many chests and not enough keys. I have the opposite problem. I'm sitting on more than 15 keys atm.
oSEXYPLATYPUSo1 voteswell that is where riot gets ya... hextech crafting is meant as a reward to its player base... but it has limitations cuz if it didnt then no one would use RP for champs/skins etc and you can get all the chest /keys you want for RP ....
but hextech is free with the keys an chest you do earn so it provides an rewards for playing game. doing well and not being toxic in the community but riot is smart they are company for profit...
you can buy RP to get chest and keys...

I'm saying that some people legitimately do not like playing a ton of different champions, and this would allow more people to participate.
More people participating via other means has absolutely no negatives because they'd still be gated by keys/chests like anyone else. It wouldn't make it easier to get chests. It wouldn't make it quicker to get chests. In fact, it'd still be the least efficient way of gaining chests.
