The most whiny role?

Athenes Lulu··5 votes·2,504 views

Title. Poll included!

Top couldn't shut up about team feeding and going in while he splitpushes all the time and doesn't participate? Mid won't stop whining about not getting that damn blue or because someone else took a kill? AD carries complaining about no peels from everyone, especially support, even though he shouldn't have stepped into the front lines? Supports crying because no one follows up his cc, even though he shouldn't have jumped in 1v5 like an idiot? Or, junglers who never ganks, yet bitches about how a lane lost because of no jungler presence?

We all know whiny players come here and there, and that there's always something to whine about. What do you think?

For me, it's mid. Because....

  • They cry when they don't get peels, despite that they have their own (by extreme mobility and/or hard cc, something ADCs don't necessarily have. Yes, as a support main, I actually hear this shit.)
  • Inconsiderate as hell since they only have to worry about themselves, and no one else (from experience, it's always mid mains saying that playing adc/support "takes no skill" and that they get carried).
  • Often brag on how "hard" and "skilled" their role is (cough assassins) even though they have less penalties for fucking up (and again, self-peels to erase mistakes). basically entitled as shit. Mainly because of how "important" they are especially when fed.
  • "omg where's my blue? why did you take it???? ima afk cya"
  • Skill actually don't tell us that you're not any less whiny. If an ADC is actually good at playing ADC, there's actually no reason to whine, really. But no matter how good or bad midlaners are, they will whine, no matter what.
  • A handful of them are weak early game and constantly bitch and cry about how they needed babysitting, despite that they can actually handle stuff on their own.

I've seen supports bitch and whine, but actually for almost the same reasons as ADCs do. And if they do whine, it's always coming from tank supports that are always the ones engaging. If ADCs do whine, it's because they probably suck.

Thank god I main support so I'll never have to hear this freaky shit just kidding it's because they play engage tanks lel

It's a tie between ADC and mid. Both are spoiled brats that expect everyone else to spoon feed them, while changing their diaper, baby sit them, and vocally request that we verbally acknowledge how badly we need them.

I voted mid but could have just as easily been ADC.Like you said they are both usually whiny bitches wanting everything given to them and cry when it's not.

ADC hands down.

"I can't believe I have to carry this scrub team." - ADCs after you spend the entire game saving them when they're out of place, and letting them KS. This is on top of the support that is there to help them through their laning phase, and the jungler who is supposed to assist their lane more than anyone else. Even when you do all of that, a lot of them still act like jerks.

The best part is a lot of them act like doing the most damage, and getting the most kills is not in the job description. You don't always get a competent support, and you might get a weird jungler who thinks camping top is the thing to do, so I understand why it's not everyone's favorite role. However it is a role where you are supposed to rely on other people, so when they act like they did everything themselves it's a little disgusting.

ADC.

There is a reason "Vaynespotting" Is a thing

Edit: I would put mid second and the other roles tied for last, with a caveat: Riven in either Mid or Top can take first place any day. Holy shit Rivens can be toxic 0_0

The most whiny role?

Definitely ADC.

Mostly because they are actually pretty useless early-on and pretty reliant on their team to get going. Supports have a much easier time winning early than an ADC does. Unfortunately this means a lot of ADC's that half-understand this let it go to their head and become a huge nuisance.

Enosetc3 votes

stereotypical supports

aka people with victim complexes who believe that they are the real carries on their team and contribute more than any other role. always have the most to say about the performance of another role when theirs is among the least mechanically difficult. usually sits behind the adc during the laning phase instead of applying actual pressure and then passive-aggressively berates the adc for being outperformed because the other support is doing their job

1000angrybees3 votes

I'm not sure why support gets shit when 90% of the time it's the supports job to play 'keep ourselves informed with wards in every possible gank route while simultaneously babysitting our small dumb ADChild'

Athenes Lulu1 votes

Not when they engage at the very wrong time, even if it's obvious that you don't engage at all. You know the good stuff that happens if they do.

But otherwise, people just need someone to blame. If it's not the jungler who actually had to farm and kill, then it's the support that they all say "always gets carried" mainly because they don't take kills or farm. We all know that.

look at this poll from a different angle and you can see a big middle finger. that's exactly how adc's treat their supports.

I dunno about you guys, but I get a ton of jungles who think the whole game revolves around them. Every creep in the jungle is always theirs, if they die at any place at any time its somebody else's fault, its not their job to do anything. And if they tower dive and feed first blood and double buffs to your laning opponent, its your fault for losing your lane.

ADC would be my second vote though.

ValyrianBlade2 votes

Whatever role you don't play.

I never played top much and found top players to be really whiny, especially when I was jungle or mid. I started playing a little more top when my jungle main (Hecarim) became strong there and got a better feel for the lane, then suddenly noticed my top laners complaining less when I was jungle/mid. Maybe it had something to do with having a better understanding of what a top laner needs to be successful in the game..? (and providing it :P )

I think if you consistently find a specific role of player complaining, you really need to start playing that role. It's one thing if the odd player complains (I still find overly whiny top/mids that blame the jungle whenever they die in lane sometimes), but if it seems to happen often maybe you are missing something.

e.g. If you think your ADC is whiny but just sucks all the time, maybe they actually got camped early for a couple kills and just want help to get your most important source of damage back in the game instead of feeding their most important source of damage. I literally was watching a stream of Scarra (I think that was his name) duo'ing support as Bard with Kalista, their Jarvan 4 jungle gave them Gromp while smiting it for them, then did blue for 2 and rushed bot. They tower dove at level 2 for a double kill bot lane and it was beautiful. No kidding, I thought they played it amazingly and was really impressed. Their jungler proceeded to literally camp the bot lane brush without doing any camps for about 5 minutes and helped kill bot lane a few more times (the first right as they returned to lane again). Turned out the game was against TSM Theoddone jungle, and after a bit Scarra's stream started lagging so I switched to Theoddone's stream to catch the rest of the game. The whole rest of the game I listened to theoddone complain about how bad his bot lane was and 'how do you even die to a tower dive level 2, they should all have died trying to dive you' etc... and basically blaming the entire game on his bot lane when what really happened was the enemy jungler outplayed him. His bot lane really did nothing wrong, and when I was watching Scarra's stream all I could think was 'why isn't Shyvana (who theoddone was playing) coming bot to help, she must have like 3 levels on J4 by now?'

As someone who has played a fair share of ADC, I know just how hard it is to even stand under your turret once the enemy ADC gets 2 kills early (1 on each you and your support). Or how hard I can make life on the other adc. If their team doesn't come to help them get back in it. Being a duo lane that is already behind on xp, getting behind on farm and more xp early because of a good enemy gank or something basically makes you a free kill to the enemy mid or jungle or even adc at times. If your adcs are frequently in this position and you frequently lose these games, maybe you need to try adc and see what they need to be successful so you can win these games. In the game above, had Shyv warded the bush near her golems (blue side) or stuck around after her clear, instead of her ADC dying a second time as he tried to return to lane she could have netted him a kill against a level 2 J4 when she was level 4 and completely turned that game around.

I agree, everyone has their own kind of hardships, therefore leading to the fact that every role has whiny people. So far ADC wins, but imo it's mainly because they haven't tasted the pains to be ADC.

I mean, you have someone else to worry about, because your support is as important as you are. You've got limited space to dodge shit from 2 people, and because you are also sharing a lane with another person, which makes the lane itself really cramped. Enemy team looks dangerous, and is ready to jump on you and kill you? Even if you have self-peels yourself, you DO know that's not enough to outlive crazy teamfights.

I've played mid a few times, but their reasons to whine/boast about how "good" they are just makes me ask "why do you even need to say that?" That's all.

ValyrianBlade1 votes

Yes, when I play adc I notice a HUGE difference between games where someone chooses support or last pick gets stuck support. It is SO hard to do anything in lane with a poor support. It's even harder when you have an engage-heavy support who doesn't understand the ADC matchup and doesn't realize that the enemy Graves+Thresh(with ignite) is going to win a 2v2 against you and goes in anyways and feeds a kill. Then proceeds to do it again and persistently blames you for losing the battles.

Nonetheless I'm a pretty terri-bad support. I know the lane matchups well enough to help my adc win 2v2 skirmishes or escape from them if he's willing to follow my lead or knows his own shit, but otherwise am pretty bad when it comes to applying pressure or protecting him from ganks.

And yea, I think I voted top because of prior experience, but I definitely get the 'superiority complex' out of mid laners the most when they're like 11/11/2 and somehow think they're carrying (and in the post-game when you notice that the 6/1/17 ADC aka me has about 150 more farm than anyone else on the map and about 3K gold on anyone including that mid laner and has dealt more than double damage to champions and total damage, etc.. and you wonder who really carried... aka the support that gave me an early lead and hence a free lane).

I play a decent amount of ADC, and I don't get why people that are either "mains" or play ADC the most complain so much.

The jungler is nearly forced to be everyone's biotch and is somehow your fault if they lose their own lane (assuming the enemy jungler isn't camping them).

Top is on their own little island and leaving lane for just a back without tp can easily lose you tower, you are the furthest from help outside of the jungler (rarely to mid solo queue players leave their lane)

Mid laners can be more spoiled than whiny, as they expect to get every blue (Irarely ask unless the jungler offers cause I'm not dependant on it)

Supports basically have to win the lane for their adcs who either ignore the enemy poking them all game and still miss farm, or only go aggro and never farm, and regardless of what happens is the supports fault.

All the adc has to do is not die, don't be over aggressive, pay attention to the mini map (pretty simple), and shoot at minions.

ADC isn't expected to make tp plays ADC isn't expected to gank other lanes like mid/top (tp plays)/jungle/sometimes roaming supports ADC isn't expected to ward nearly as much as either solo lane or the jungler and support ADC isn't expected to initiate fights ever ADC rarely if ever has to pick (in solo queue usually) their champ to fit a role or whole unlike every other lane and role in the game (There are exceptions, but more, don't pick kog if you have an old ap team, etc etc etc)

Seriously, compared to the other 4 roles, the ADC has the least responsibility. You farm, you pay attention, and you engage in a way that unless you are jumped on makes you the last one in and potentially the first one out. Unless you are like...Vayne tumbling in, you can get out easier than most (there are exceptions).

Athenes Lulu1 votes

ADC is 80% mechanics, 20% game knowledge/do other jobs.

When they are working with non-engage supports, they are actually the one initiating fights. That's also when they have to think instead of blindly following up kills. It's not as simple as it looks.

Not sure there is such thing as a non-engage support.

Pretty much every support can engage a fight, just might not be the main engage for the entire team.

The only support that can't easily engage a fight is Soraka, and she at least has an ability if she hits with her silence, or manages to root with it.

Even Janna can engage honestly.

And it really is as simple as it looks because I play plenty of ADC. I'm not the best at last hitting now and then depending on the ADC, but there is rarely anything "hard" about it, compared to the other roles.

ADC basically has to be the least map aware of any other role just for starters, and their job is "stand there, farm, don't die, shoot someone in team fights, don't die again"

Sure there is more to it than that as far as positioning, but your role requires much less than what others do at all points of the game, and the longer the game goes, you have even less responsibility and more "shoot at the guy and kill him".

Athenes Lulu1 votes

Some supports are better off using their spells to peel, instead of wasting them to engage.

I mean, yes, even for Raka it's possible to start a 2v2, but it's not just mashing buttons in order. That's now how botlane always work especially if you pick something like Lulu/Janna/etc.

That's what I mean by "non-engage", as in, not built to singlehandedly engage like Thresh/Leona/Blitz or something with lockdowns.

Any response other than ADC is most likely from an ADC main tbh

I main support and midlaners are much whinier than ADCs I've came across.

Don't even bring up those entitled assassin mains that boast about how "skilled" they are.

Mid or adc. Top seems to be a trash talker very often, but when someone's whining all game blaming others it's usually mid or adc.

Tranquilis2 votes

Gonna be honest I think it is the supports, like ADCs are bad don't get me wrong, but in my experience supports will whine cry and give the 'muh bad adc' excuse for everything going wrong and when asked why they initiated the surrender vote or why we can't win is because of 'this garbage adc.'

Gordo San2 votes

ADC for sure.

When you go into a lane with another person. And your job is to be protected and farm.

Every mistake / death is: -The support not warding, or "zoning".

  • the jungler not ganking.
  • mid not roaming.
  • top not teleporting.
  • lack of peels
  • lagging
  • Being camped
  • That auto should have went off

Players who only play Vayne, are some of the most toxic people I have played with, and in my games, seem to complain the most, and cocky top laners are pretty bad too, and I will admit I have been a cocky top laner before.

Voltage221 votes

Honestly. And I know I'm in the minority, but Junglers.

To me they're usually the first to bitch at me for feeding my lane whenever I lose a top lane despite me pinging and them never coming in for a gank, or just randomly running up into my lane from the turret and not even really ganking.

Cosmic Cocaine1 votes

I'm a Shaco, so it's the enemy jungle who whines.

The Tilted King1 votes

I main mid (and i hate saying that, but i guess its just fking true..) and honestly, if your gonna play mid and bitch about getting ganked.. YOUR IN The MIDDLE OF THE MAP! as a midlaner you need to know you are going to be the first, sometimes second most ganked on your team. and if your playing a champ that snowballs hard? you better have wards all the time and ur escape always ready cause you just became a national park.

I know its adc's who complain the most though. most tops know, top is an island. your only getting ganks from jungler if you snowball hard (Riven Fiora sometimes Vayne ) of if they do. mid probably cant gank top, jungler probably doesnt have enough damage to kill unless you have traded effectively.

junglers, supports, and most mid laners have to help adc's unless their actually getting a long with their supports and undertanding eachothers play styles.
