Elise QOL buff idea
Yes there are a lot of buff Elise thread and yes this is another. A word wall at that. I recently got a idea and wanted feed back.
The QOL buff would be to Rappel. Rappel would at rank 1 would have 1 second of "hang time." The "Hang time" would increase one half second per rank allowing her to hang for 3 second at max rank. "Hang time" is referring to the amount of time she is hanging off screen. This combined with Zhonya's would give her 5.5 second which she could not be harmed.
I have played Elise and enjoyed her. Her one main skill I think both suck's and useless is Spider form's E rappel. All it does is drops you onto a enemy monster or champ. To me this sound like a bad thing with her only form of CC is in her human form Cocoon.
My idea would be along the line's of a QOL buff to rappel. Allowing Elise to fight like a spider. The buff would be to the Rappel's "Hang time," to increase with each rank. . Being a form of QOL buff it would give her good Get out of danger free card when having to deal with super tank enemies, allow her to trap ganks. Providing enemy pressure when squishes are moving around the jungle with low amounts of life. It would also make rappel useful when no monsters are around if she is trying to escape a enemy. Now exmaples of how this would help.
Example one is when a team fight would start she would Rappel up and wait the 2/3 seconds the team fight would take then rappel down to feast on the left overs of the back line if her team is forced to retreat.
Example two would be if your team has pushed a enemy 'Ezreal" into the jungle. Elise she could repel into the air and wait. Instead of waiting in a bush and possibly getting shot with both a Q and W if the ezreal is smart enough to use them to check the bush's before he hides.
Example three is it would could increase her Early counter jungle ability if she carried Smite/ignite. Head's to where the enemy Jungler would be/go and rappel until he has started his attack. Drop down when the timer is up or he has dropped the Monster halfway where Elise proceeds attack like a spider by smiting the camp for the kill and ignite the champ either killing him or hard forcing him back to base.
Doing this would first stop her randomly rappelling up to just drop .2 second's later. Having the ability scale with rank would give a meaning full reason to rank it over her other two spells. It would give Riot something easy to implement and balance around instead of having to deal with just number.
Elise already has to wait 4 second before she can rappel when she first transforms. Elise already has to stand still and can be attack UNTIL she is in the air. So rappel would still be risky even with the buff.
Increase the cool down would keep her from spamming. Make it cause all minions and neutral monster to auto agro her when she comes down would force her to think about how she uses it. Eneimes could still see her on the mini map if she had rappelled by on of there wards. For example 3 which would be geared more for early game then late would force her to give up flash hurting her mobility. All resulting in "PLEANTY" of counter play.
