That damage now makes you tankier than a tank.
Damage is SO high that the tankiest champions in the game, are the ones who shit out damage, and build lifesteal. Think of the amount of health an aatrox generates in one fight. More often than not, it’s going to be more than ANY tank item will give him.

no not actually, the tank items got nerfed and assassin base dmgs got lowered so that they couldn't just build tank. but tanks were still busted so individual tanks got nerfed until eventually rito decided the keystones and runes were busted but those nerfed champions didn't actually get anything back for all of that outside of sejuani. also, lissandra got aftershock nerfed for everyone so tanks have lost quite a lot lol, more than they should have if we take into consideration where things were when all the balance changes from all these flash points occurred.

all these movers and shakers received either direct, or indirect nerfs (often both) without any actual compensation because some edge case champion was abusing a keystone, be it lissandra, camille, gankplank or tenmo.

Which doesn’t change how fucked tanks are. The entire class is practically unplayable outside of some random gimmic that works 1/5 games.
The closest you’ll ever get to a tank in the game is a riven, urgot or aatrox who heal more than any tank item will every give them and can’t be out damaged because for some reason riot thought
