Will there be any follow-up to Cho'Gath?

A few patches ago, Chogath was altered to give his ultimate damage based on scaling health and a removal of the cap on Feast stacks he could acquire against champion kills and epic monster kills. This was done in order to provide Chogath with the AP/Bruiser boss-monster vibe that fit both thematically and gave him a bit more power to combat his poor win/loss ratio.

A couple patches later, he was given a little more health per stack and upped the non-champion/boss stack cap to 6 because the changes failed to noticeably affect his performance. It has been a couple of months since these changes occurred and most of the casual players to picked Cho up to test out the changes have dropped him.

Will there be any follow-up to Cho'Gath as is performance stands now? He is still significantly under the 50% mark for win rate and while I know win rate isn't the best statistic to base performance on, can we perhaps get some quality of life changes to improve his performance in the jungle?

Expect flaming with youtube links to random montages of Cho ult one shots.

I never took that combo seriously. It was very hard to take full advantage of.

It's just an excuse to continue complaining about how "weak" ADCs are.

He's suuuuuper clunky. His animations take ages and in this age of hyper mobility it's getting hard to even land scream on many champions.

He definitely needs attention.

I think he'll get a VGU before anything else significant happens to him unless it is 100% needed. What is likely to happen is, if anything, his mana costs will be buffed because his W has a 110 mana cost for little reason and his Q mana cost is pretty steep at 90 mana.

hes not in a bad spot nor in a great spot, I think hes fine imo

the update that made him not lose stacks when he dies was such a great update for him honestly.

It was definitely a step in the right direction.

problem is very similar to singed and mundo... cho has no impact to the game especially if your team is very weak.

  • ap... bad item path.. especially melee.
  • weak tank items... not correct patch yet... plus are they actually tank?
  • burst is not doing well in teamfight because it's so hard to execute!
  • predictable because it's hard to outsmart enemy.
  • spam cast their abilities is like tickle to their enemy.
  • synergy champion in your team is required.

The biggest issue is... they are not really tank nor durable champions as ram/amu/zac/seji/etc.. they are just AP mage with good cc.

In this mobility creep meta you just cant expect his kit to work.

He either gets a full VGU or gets buffed so hard that he becomes "overpowered" against immobile champions (which wouldnt make him really OP, just an extremely annoying niche pick).

If only his silence applied a grounding effect... I honestly can't tell if that would be overkill or just right.

Jamenawerl1 votes

That would do nothing since the silence already prevents the use of dashes lmao.
