why is it that some aoe abilities 1 shot yoricks minions while others dont?

Because they have a health bar, and if the AoE hits hard enough it'll one shot.

There are some AOE moves that don't kill Yorick's minions at any health(Karthus E)

There are other AOE moves that will kill Yorick's minions at any health(Malz Q)

I think its something like single target vs aoe, with the single target doing full damage. idk tho

Only one I can think of is Ryze E which is considered single target, even tho it spreads

Wait. Which aoe one shots them? They are supposed to not be oneshotted by aoe.
