atm super minions can be partially hurtful. Sure they apply pressure. But they tend to help the enemy team freeze the lane and deny you a way to farm from that lane.

Super minions give you lots of baron control, that a lot of global gold. Super minions give you tower pressure in other lanes, that a lot of global gold. Super minions give you dragon control, not gold but the value of the buffs teamwide are high. Super minions give you control over the enemy jungle, that is a lot more gold than the lane minions. Super minions give you a pushed lane, giving you vision control, giving you caught out enemies. That's a lot of team gold.
And most of all, super minions give you strong enough minions to tank 2 turrets at once to be able to end the game.
