She's not in a bad spot, but imo she could use a rework to be more... Interactive(?) in bot lane, adding more counterplay and power. Hard to do with auras, though...
Marthian2 votesI don't use DJ Sona icon (do own though), but definitely agree: She's not bad. Is she meta, it's debatable. Trash tier? Heck nope, her near-teamwide utility is stronger than people give credit for (not to mention they SEVERELY underestimate how strong Ardent Censor is on her to the point any buffs to it benefits Sona more than any other support besides possibly Soraka.)

I remember a time where Sona could buy support items as a support and do well and feel good doing it I'm so far gone from this playstyle that I don't buy sightstone on her when I take her bot, I feel it literally weighs her down because she desperately needs AP, this doesn't transition too well when your team starts losing, because it's IMMEDIATELY the support without a sightstones fault (I will however upgrade trinket)

If you are a skilled Sona/Soraka player and have a competent ADC, Leona doesn't counter you much at all (generally, that isn't the case and they are both countered by Leona.)
