@Riot On ZIGGS Bot

Ziggs

Ziggs bot is mainly viable due to his ability to quickly take turrets and especially the importance of taking the first turret bot. The first turret creates a lane advantage and allows the two bot players to immediately snowball that edge by sieging mid (which Ziggs does better than most ADCs).

Besides this, Ziggs has a good laning phase bot since supports can provide the CC to allow Ziggs' abilities to hit. One of his core weaknesses lies in exactly how easy it is to outplay his kit. If you miss a bomb and minefield mid vs Ahri/Talon/LB, she might just dash in and leave you dead (his unreliability is the big reason he almost never sees play mid in competitive or the highest tiers).

With a support, this is less exploitable and AoE matters more in a lane with two people rather than one (it's also easier to hit someone). Additionally, unlike mages, ADCs tend to stand near to the minion wave when farming and waveclear much more with autos. This again makes them more vulnerable. When you add the fact that many ADCs don't run full MR glyphs and will take armor seals rather than HP, it's easy to see how most (besides Sivir and Cait) can get bullied by him. Even TLD itself provides more burst than a squishy ADC is used to bot. In fact, if they don't buy Hexdrinker, they may even be combod mid game without being able to get out their theoretical DPS.

Since Ziggs tends to succeed by snowballing the game off bot before an ADC massively outscales him (35-40+ minutes in), I suggest that his passive bonus damage vs structures be lowered by 50%. This will allow ADCs much more time to scale and also punish roamers less when facing Ziggs. As compensation, his W can get a bonus 15% AP scaling on his damage vs champions (allowing Ziggs to more seriously consider blowing his escape for a risky aggressive play). It currently has a paltry 35% AP ratio on a 26 second CD. I think buffing his scaling vs champions slightly will make people more seriously consider him as a mid laner in high ELO because atm, part of the issue is that he has next to no kill pressure/snowball potential off the lane vs competent players but also doesn't scale particularly well assuming equal gold. People who consider him a late game champion are quite misguided and aren't aware of his stats. He is very solidly an early-mid game champion with an average late game and right now, there are many picks who offer waveclear while also providing strong snowball potential (Ekko, Syndra, Ahri etc.). I don't really think Ziggs bot is OP but he requires a lot of adaptations for the enemy bot lane and many find him annoying to deal with. These changes wouldn't make him completely unviable bot but would slow down the pace of the game considerably and give ADCs more of a chance when they're not getting 4 man dived. :D What do you guys think?

Ziggs is an okay botlaner, but very unreliable if he doesn't have the right support. you win lane by being aggressive, and if the enemy ADC is able to dodge your bombs, you'll be at a disadvantage, since you can't dodge AAs. Because the majority of his damage is tied to skill shots, capable ADC/Supports will be able to easily deal with him. And, he lacks the majority of sustain that ADC's have, being unable to profit from the Warlords keystone. Ziggs bot was effective when it first came out, simply because the speed at which it took turrets was unprecedented. However, people have figured out how to deal with it, so it is no longer as effective as it used to be.

this is a good synopsis, i think on top of the W buff they should also buff the Q with higher damage or lower cd, ziggs is about constant ap damage but other champions just do it way better than he does like cass or karthus. i also think part of the problem lies in just how fucking weak adc's are.

How about lower importance of bot tower by a bit?

step 1 get an advantage in lane. step 2 bomb the enemy adc as he tries to take cs. step 3 take turrets down faster than an airplane pilot on the world trade center losing lane step 1 miss all your qs when the enemy engages on you step 2 die step 3 repeat.
