Yes it should.

Yes, if the animation has started. It should hit.

So, Sion's Q should hit if the animation/Windup has started and you walk/flash out?

Please, give me the logic behind that.

No, but it should hit if the downward animation starts and you flash out, since the downward part is the part that does damage.

There's one key difference between Sion's Q and Darius' ult: Darius' ult is a targeted ability, it needs a target to be used, whereas Sion's Q does not. If the animation of a targeted ability goes off, then it will always hit it's target, unless the target breaks line of sight. Since Sion's Q is not a targeted ability, it works differently than Darius' ult.

Makes sense.

Just don't like the odd levels of supposed "counterplay" Riot seems to put on similar champions.

It's coded this way. Ask CertainlyT why.

well its still stupid :l

Knight Devout3 votes

It is, as it's stupid that it resets when it hits clones.

that was bugfixed. And Ive had many times where I ulted as him and the target flashed or went invis and I just ulted the full HP tank because They went invisible or flashed halfway through the animation.

It shouldn't tbh.

Doesn't make sense from a logical standpoint and also eliminates a potential defensive maneuver.

I may be wrong, but aren't most point and click abilities undodgeable? I thought ranged auto attacks, as well as ranged point and click spells can't be dodged after they take flight. Taric's Dazzle, with it's slow speed stands out as as spell I've seen connect after the enemy flashes (even outside it's max range). It seems unfair to make a melee champion's ultimate suddenly miss with a flash if ranged abilities don't.

Would be too easy to dodge if it worked like that, and force a player's ult onto CD.

but you are forcing a player's flash. last time i checked that cool down is much higher than darius's ult

Phoebos1 votes

Sure, but think about a teamfight. You flash out of Darius ult and he's finished with it for the rest of the fight.

WhereTheNamesAt1 votes

then could make it go on a shorter cool down like caitlyn's ult, when it doesn't trigger. but the ult shouldn't connect to the person who flashed

Funny fact: Zhyona is uselss vs Darius R. He'll have 3-4s penalty CD, right on time to cast R again when player leaves Zhyona state.

Zamiake2 votes

ya it should actually need to hit before hurting u

I believe that "melee" ultimates like Darius', Skarner's and such were designed so that, if you Flash out, you'll still be hit unless you break line of sight.

Simply put, Flash over a wall and see if that works.

It depends.

If hes beginning the upward jump and you flash out of sight, it cancels and cooldown does not go off.

But if hes swinging DOWN and you go out of sight it doesn't reset.

Once I was playing Lissandra Top against Darius... I thought I outplayed him when I used Frozen Tomb as he used Noxian Guillotine (I expected to be invulnerable when the attack hit) but that's when I learned it just cancels his ult and let's him use it again afterward. Oh well, now I don't make that mistake! ;P
