Will Barrier be looked at this pre-season?

I remember back in the day when Barrier was the go to defensive summoner spell for Marksmen, and then Heal was buffed to the point of Barrier being obsolete as a summoner spell. I only really see it on the occasional mid laner.

Not just barrier though, will Clairvoyance be looked at as well? Or Clarity? There's no real need for Clairvoyance anymore since ADC's just pick up blue trinket, which is basically just a Clairvoyance that's more local and also drops a ward. As for Clarity, it falls off super hard once mana regen starts being built.

I guess what I'm asking at the end of the day is, will the summoner spells that are never used because they are obsolete be given a boost to make them more relevant again?

I think Barrier only needs a small buff to be the go-to summoner for more defensive mid laners, but right now Teleport is ensuring that even those champions don't use it.

Can't imagine how you'd make Clarity and Clairvoyance strong without just making them do very different things. Mana restore is simply always going to fall off compared to other options.

I get you, but it really irks me that you have 11 Summoner Spells for the rift, and only 5 of them are used extensively. Hell! Even ignite is being phased out by Double Teleport! The only role I see taking ignite now is support, what a damn odd twist that is

Clairvoyance is awesome. It's just overshadowed.

By the fact that it isn't?

I feel a lot of people don't use it because they perceive that it's not worth it. I tried it once, has a really short cooldown in comparison to others. It can be used very reliably.

Right but the problem emerges that Mana Regen is a thing, and on alot of mid laners, it's usually one of the first things you purchase

That's another thing. You have two summoner spells that are blue and start with Clar. It just gets confusing

I'd have used the image, but I'm on a phone.

Clairvoyance's problem is that you have item 3363 now and the fact that it's almost 100% useless when fighting.

Every other summoner spell can help in a way during a fight, Clairvoyance can't. (Because that's just the way it is, it's vision)

Wards are a lot easier to come by and item 3363 makes Clairvoyance next to useless, because you're throwing away a summoner spell that could help you in a fight/trading.

Clairvoyance allows you to know where the enemy jungler is the entire early game. Keep calling it worthless though.
