I'm legitimately curious about ranked matchmaking.

I'm relatively new to the game. I've played since the start of Season 4.

Can somebody explain to me how matchmaking in ranked works? It feels like I go on absolutely massive win streaks (70-80% win rates) where teams do great together followed by absolutely massive losing streaks (20-30% win rates) where people feed like they belong in a much lower division. Is this intentional by design, or is it sheer luck?

The system is designed to keep your win rate around 50%. When you start going above that, it creates red flags in the system and then for the next games you are stuck with people that have a history of raging, intentional feeding, afking, eBay purchasing accounts, and just all around being terrible players. You ever notice that you get more duo ques when your win rate is above 50%?

Because DUOS SUCK.

I wish I could say he's trolling with his reply.

But he's actually not. If you go on a win spree the matchmaker will sabotage you.

That's why promos suck so much. You have to be on a winning streak to get through it, and basically get lucky.

So basically either you win-lose-win-lose-win-lose or you winwinwinwinwin loseloseloseloselose?

Yes, my advice would be to lose 300+ games get in bronze 5 and then go to challenger

you pay lp to face better players and worse players pay lp to face you. It works on how good you are
