The technology isn't there yet.

Lao Fu the Tiger3 votes

What technology?

O_o

Virgin Ray8 votes

No, if you've been browsing the boards. There's a rioter who talked about how the technology wasn't there yet on a xerath thread.

Lao Fu the Tiger1 votes

I'm missing something. The technology for what, exactly? Excluding yourself for healing? Or changing tooltips? What tech? o-o

Virgin Ray3 votes

It's for zooming out when xerath ults. It's a good idea, but the fact that zooming out 5260 units away from xerath quickly will cause tons of bugs and fps drops because of the rapid increase of animations being overlooked on the screen by zooming out.

Traxinator2 votes

I believe it's near the top of the boards. Someone was asking if Riot could add a zoom out function for Xerath's ultimate, similar to Jhin's new ult. He said that they didn't have the technology to be able to zoom out that far.

Personally, I'd be fine with just having Xerath's ult just zoom out as far as Jhin's.

He wasn't being serious. He was patronizing a Riot Employee.

It's actually been around since the sandbox circle jerk

It does apply to self-heals.

A while ago, I went through a replay as Soraka. I used ult when a Kha'zik tried to engage meh and our MF. http://i.imgsafe.org/2fa7ac7.jpg

My ult healed meh for 553 and MF for 341 --so the base healing was 310 -- a 10% boost would make it around 341 -- and then a 78% boost would make it around the 550.

the 178% effectiveness was 150% (cause I was low in hp) x 108% (cause of Runic Armor, tier 3 resolve mastery) x 110% (cause of Windspeaker's Blessing)

While we're at it we could also remove the "Wards purchased" portion of the website match history. Nobody buys them anymore.

Come on rito. We need touch-ups everywhere!

Sevixys1 votes

2 to 3 vision wards a game.. Well, so I Do.

MVDuneCats2 votes

There are separate rows for "Stealth Wards Purchased" and "Vision Wards Purchased". The row for "Stealth Wards Purchased" can (and should) be removed.

But Im Nunu2 votes

How about change to "stealth wards placed"? So it affects trinkets too.

MeesterMoo1 votes

How about add stealth wards?

But Im Nunu1 votes

Can't argue there xD I miss those days...Although I must admit, I am seeing more wards being placed by my teammates in low elo. So I guess it's working to some extent.

true story:

My team agreed in team chat that the enemy vladimir was a noob because he took windspeakers. I tried explaining to them it increases his healing but they said "read the tooltip, noob".

That vladimir became 6/0 in lane I believe

HenryDahNewb3 votes

when i play a self healing champ and i take this they told me to read the tooltip, I didnt know which to believe.

ApexInTheCircle2 votes

Clarity???¿ In league? Begone with you!

Spoofghoul2 votes

Why not have the damn ability buffed and make all heals and shields 10% stronger and apply the defensive buff even to yourself.

No exclusions if it heals or shields its 10% stronger and it gives a defensive buff Maybe then it might actuallly be usefull on anyone else than Soraka and would be capable of competing with thunderlord

Imagine that on Aatrox W. 10% increased heal from W, increased MR and Armor forever. No need to rework Aatrox. Problem solved.

Uiraya2 votes

God dammit Riot, this isn't hard.

hi im minty1 votes

I play wind speaker's on Lulu solely for the extra shield boots on allies. It sucks because it doesn't do anything for me or my other abilities. I really wish they could at least make it so that my shield is just as strong.

Lao Fu the Tiger8 votes

I took this mastery for 5 games on Yorick before somebody told me it didn't do jack on myself and to read the in-game tooltip.

Penns10 votes

I think it does actually increase self heals and shields too. The ingame tooltip of thunderlords still said 30 seconds cooldown after it got buffed to 20

Z Statistic4 votes

Except it does work on selfheals. The tooltip consistency needs to be changed, but it affects ALL healing/shielding you do to ANYONE.

hi im minty1 votes

I don't think so. When I shield an ally it has an extra yellow shield on it that it doesn't have when I shield myself

Z Statistic8 votes

That shield means you have increased the target's armor and magic resistance. The heal boost works regardless.

Sire Hippington18 votes

actually, the client one is correct, it DOES improve selfheal/shield aswell.

Lao Fu the Tiger3 votes

Oh really? Then I may as well use it again. Thanks!

NichtHurz4 votes

Yup, it does. I play Vladimir with Windspeakers blessing. Since his Q's effect is considered a heal, his W is considered a heal and WoA is also considered a heal. Combined with Runic Armor you'll start off with a 8% regeneration etc. bonus and with an 18% heal bonus, without having Spirit Visage.

This is from an earlier post.

"I just tested Windspeaker's in a custom game after using it on Vladimir and feeling quite good with it.

My Vlad Q (Lv.1) without Windspeaker's: 21 My Vlad Q (Lv.1) with Windspeaker's: 23

Q (Lv.2) without Windspeaker's: 32 Q (Lv.2) with Windspeaker's: 35"

TotalJerk2 votes

Is that little bit of extra heal really worth the extra damage from Thunderlord's?

But Im Nunu1 votes

Up to play styles I guess. Some teams/players want more sustained fight while others would want the damage. Also, this could be useful on someone like a mundo.

NichtHurz1 votes

Mmh, I'm not sure if Mundo would utilize it as much. Okay, he got his Q refund and his ult, but nothing besides that. With the description "Your heals and shields are 10% stronger" there is no lifereg included. I don't think this would be worth it. Grasp of the Undying is alot stronger on him and doesn't just heal him, but it also outscales the damage of Thunderlord's by far once you hit 3k hp (it's already higher after 2k hp, but for that you'd have to procc it almost perfectly).

But Im Nunu1 votes

Well, then I guess mundo don't have to use it. Like I said, it's up to play styles and I said "someone like mundo."

NichtHurz4 votes

Well, you've gotta remember that all this are just low level values on one spell without WoA or anything. Vlad does only have heals (besides life reg), not Vamp. So this is half a Spirit Visage and doesn't just apply every 20 seconds. Once you hit 40-45% cdr and 500AP, the amount you heal in 20 seconds (if you use your Q just on point) increases by 234hp. This can only be decreased by Grievous wounds and it'll still offer 140hp then. Thunderlord's will still be decreased by mres and falls off once tanks get some hp and mres or the mid game transists to late. Windspeaker's scales better into late and let's you fight tanks even a Liandry's Vlad would not take down.

Not thinking of what this does if you want to regenerate out of combat, to come back to it fast (I assume you've got 4 stacks of your E, since there is no reason not to have them up if you don't have less than 10% hp). 4 stack E + Spirit Visage + Runic Armor = 60% increased heal. 4 stack E + Spirit Visage + Runic Armor + Windspeaker's = 70% increased heal. This also means you'll come out of your W with more hp (making it more cost effective) and making your E heal more, resulting in slightly higher cost effectiveness as well.

It most likely is a preference of style, but I like it alot and since I use Ionian's + Summoner's cdr mastery I pack quite alot of dueling power vs tough opponents. My Vlad games got better since I use it, but maybe this is just because of how I play Vlad and it might not work for you.

I play Vlad with 9x MPEN Marks, 9x Scaling HP Seals, 6x Scaling CDR Glyphs, 3x Scaling MRES Glyphs, 3x Ability Power Quints 0/18/12 Masteries with Cookies (can take Assassin as well) and Intelligence since the CDR kind of scales with your heals and heal increase. It also makes up for the lack of raw damaging power you might have with other runes and masteries.

Kaipop1 votes

Yorick's E does heal, but I'd suggest going Grasp of the Undying on Yorick as it is a very strong mastery at the moment and it also provides good survivability, while giving damage too.

Athenes Lulu2 votes

Though since you are going to shield mainly on allies and stand in the backlines, the bonus resistances for your allies still help a lot.

######At least better than Trashlord's that is useless lategame anyways.

FlippyGoneTrippy1 votes

What about shields? I'm too lazy to test this myself but maybe I will if this doesn't get a clear answer. My understanding is.. I'm playing Lulu and I cast Pix on myself. I get a shield that's 10% stronger than if I didn't have the mastery, but no bonus resistances? Am I understanding this correctly?

King Odin1 votes

Only applies to shielding/healing allies.

DorkunedAuras1 votes

No, if you cast pix on yourself, it will be exactly the same as if you have no keystone at all. Neither the 10% buff nor the resistances apply.

LOL Spammer1 votes

I don't get it.

Zhire1 votes

the mastery windspeaker's blessing's description misleads player into thinking that shields and heals are stronger on themselves too. however, the description in-game changes and says (excluding yourself) which makes you feel like you've just been scammed.

kaltenashes1 votes

yeah some people used this mastery thinking life steal would be stronger. they really should have added (excluding yourself)... i ran it as Irelia then i people told me that it didnt work and i was like WTF?
