Guys, come on. I know you want URF today, but even if it doesn't come out today, it's still coming back. There's a game mode rotation on the PBE.
You guys are being incredibly ungrateful. URF is coming back, though maybe not immediately. There's no reason to insult the work Riot did to try and make you all laugh today.

But guess what, while other games make steps forward Riot does absolutely nothing without getting more hate than love. This means that they are doing something wrong, they should know that. Imo (as I played lots of URF both years it was released) I consider it the cure to flaming... People had too much fun to worry about AFKers or anyone who said "report noob" (which was insanely rare). That's just my opinion though and since we can't get rid of flamers, making the game more fun overall can only be better. Now you might say that draven heads make the game more fun but I think they don't. And it's not just me, it's about 50% of the community. We aren't a joke; half of Riot's ideas are. (doom bots, ascension, URF, one for all and hextech crafting are the only good things to ever happen imo and maybe snowdown map, but it never came back)
Rekka77714 votesBut that's the thing, URF is a special game mode, that requires certain balance tweaks and certain champs to be banned or modified, and the game is fun because it's so wild and random and chaotic. That's what non-URF was like in the old days of League. But what would happen if URF was around for a while, it'd have people try making a meta for it, and ultimately, people would try hard in URF and flame/complain/try optimizing everything the same way. I know it's not entirely the same, but that's the logic Riot uses, and it has some merit at the very least.

I didn't really like DotA but all heroes are free there, and not many changes are applied to the game, leaving almost no room to hate. As a CS:GO player tho, I need to say that operations and stuff only make the game better, let alone the fact that there is a console, leaving you freedom to do anything you want in the game. Also Half Life 3 is pretty much a meme now that they don't release it... Anyway my point is that Blizzard and Valve together get as much hate as Riot does. I mean be honest here.. I agree that the League is awesome but couldn't it be.. better?

If people are insulting Riot because they "suck at balancing their game", imagine what people are saying about Valve and DotA when you have disparity that goes from 38% to 60% win rate between heroes. And we're just talking about balance here. There is a lot of other things people will complain about. Whether it's graphic, contesting a ban, complaining about a decision the company made... Players always seems to find a new reason to bitch and moan.

AceScottie25 votesOk. The League of Draven thing was funny, anyone who didn't laugh at it has no sense of humour. However Riot, there is such thing as dragging a joke on too long. Right now its too long. Some of us only play League because its a fun game, we play all year with trolls, cheaters and scum to build up enough ip to buy champs that we can play in urf. Also that wasn't a lot of work and don't even try claim it was, you didn't replace the heads, you just added a bloated head on top. (play heimer and you can clearly see)
But again. can we now have our "featured game mode" (preferably urf).

When a consumer wants something, and it's well within the power for the business to provide, it's generally good practice to give your market what they want.
Riot don't have to be professional, but it's a reasonable expectation.

You see... The business RIOT provides is **free **for you to play. You can purchase extra content (skins, wards, etc) but as far as playing the game it costs you nothing. You can earn IP (free currency) to get every champion and rune. You get access to all the game modes free. You can download the game for free.
Therefore the RIOT has no obligation to their customers whatsoever. Your argument is invalid.
I also think you're naive to question their market and business strategy since they went from less than 10,000 players to well over 800,000,000 in five years. No other company in the gaming industry has accomplished this in the same time frame (not even Blizzard).
So, wait, let me get this straight. You're saying, in the same post, that Riot provides this for free and has no obligation to its customers. Then you're saying that Riot went from 10k to 800m players in 5 years. Are you stupid enough to believe they did it with money other than the money they make from this game? Or are you just saying that because a very small percentage of people simply don't pay for anything in it, that means their business model is somehow different?
Business is business, no matter what model is followed. When customers want something reasonable and well within your power to deliver, you deliver it. Then you sit back and watch the bottom line inflate. The game being free has no impact on this. If you think I'm wrong, look at the free games out there who have no customers.
By your logic, something being on the micro-transaction model simply grows without customers' money? That's foolish, simply put. Stick to flipping burgers - business logic is a bit too stronk.
The bottom line is if you fail to appease those who fill your pockets, your pockets become empty. PERIOD. No matter what business model, no matter who you are, no matter how you charge. That's definitely not to say that Riot isn't appeasing their playerbase simply due to URF not being in the game - that's a whole separate issue. I just had to comment on how utterly, downright stupid your comment is.
Riot is donating NOTHING - they are making tremendous amounts of money off of this game. Stop implying that this game is a charity to the players. It's not. It's a game that is designed to make money, and it does damn good at it.

It's great and all but it will ONLY be on the weekend. Some of us aren't teenagers (not an insult) and have to work on the weekend as well. It is pointless to make it "permanent" then only give it to us on the weekends, which means people like me will get 1 day at most out of a week (my weekend is usually more like the middle of the week).
If it was a full week I'd give them more credit, as everyone could enjoy it.

Also, not all of us care about Draven. I actually hate draven as a champ (is boring to me and I don't play adc so I have zero attachment there).
It seems more like a funny for them, not us.
rtbf2256182419 votesThe problem is that it will be back for 6 days collectively. Friday through Sunday. and that's it. 2 times. Compared to the 2 week release we had on the 2 previous occasions. The Draven joke itself isn't bad at all. Even the Support page has Draven all over it.
