Supports and autofill

Is it not indicative of some negative gameplay issue that if you pick autofill it will give you the support role 95% of the time? Supports themselves are not weak or imbalanced, but NO ONE wants to play support except dedicated support mains. The reason so few people actually want to support is because the FORCED meta of bot lane is just so disgustingly linear and boring. You basically pick support, sit in a bush for 15 mins, and pretty much stuck holding your ADCs hand for the entire duration of the game. Even in a 40-50 min long game you are LITERALLY sitting ontop of your adc making sure he doesn't get dove by some assassin or diver. You even have an item that is essentially a literal dog leash for supports and their adc item 3109 item 3050. Some people like that kind of gameplay, but the majority of players don't like being a literal heal/CC slave for the team. Alsoe I won't say that lack of supports is the only reason for long que times, but surely it is a large contributing factor. Isn't it about time something is done about this?

of course. i mean i hate to get edgy here, but slaves have always been the backbone of any significant task involving them. America being the biggest example, it was built on the backs of slaves. Doesn't mean its fun or exciting IMO. I can carry the hell out of an ADC with my nami bubbles/pokes/waves/E, but I'm still chained to him for atleast 10-20 mins depending on how long laning lasts, and even after lane I still have to watch him very closely to make sure that if he does any stupid shit I keep him alive. And if its not the ADC then its someone else who is capable of carrying. Its just very restricting gameplay.
