Mentoring System
When I first started learning league there were a lot of things that i didn't know. The sheer amount of variables and decisions I needed to make were overwhelming. My first games on Riven I built her full attack speed because she was fast and attacking faster made sense. Throughout all my mistakes I had some friends who had played league for longer than me. So I was always consulting them about builds, champs, stategies, what the heck dragon does. This really helped me work through the learning curve that all new League players need to pass. Sadly not every new player has access to this and I think that it's a problem.
My idea is to create a mentorship program specifically focused around working with newer players. Players could sign up to volunteer as mentors. These mentors wouldn't have to play games with the low leveled people (because that causes more issues) but would just be there to answer questions and give advice to the new players.
Criteria for being a mentor: -Knowledge of the game (tested by Normals or Ranked MMR equivalent so silver and above) -Good Attitude (very low report rate, never been banned, honor?) -Currently Playing (minimum time played per week) -Available(willing to be available on facebook/league regularly)
I think a system like this would help prospective League Players feel both welcomed and a lot less confused. I think this would also increase the standard of players in the league community. Many of the players in B5-B3 simply don't understand some basics of League that they could get this way.
This specific aside there is a lot that needs to be done towards new player experience and I'm hoping that Riot will continue to pursue this area as a whole.
