How close is eve to getting her rework?

lolipopevelynn··2 votes·1,032 views

Now that ww is done and galio seemingly to be next, is eve coming before or after galio? Have you guys atleast settled on something art wise? I am asking because you decided to skip her during the assassin update and she is struggling a bit right now with the jg changes

CertainlyT said in the Warwick Live Stream that Galio and Urgot were currently in the ChampUp production. This means his team adopted Urgot after they completed Warwick (though CertainlyT said he wouldn't be staying on ChampUp), so my guess on Evelynn is that she will be the next champ to be adopted by Galio's team once they complete him around March/April. This will give her roughly a re-release date around Halloween - almost as if they have planned for a Shadow Isle rework to launch with the Harrowing...

He says this like 1 hour and 25 min into the video, if you needed to look it up.

galio and ww are high resource intensive updates on the same level of sion and poppy. I don't think eve needs nearly as much work as those two which is why she should be prioritize just because it would be smaller in scope. but i guess it would make sense if she was picked up after galio

She's going to be a large scope rework. Meddler has stated she fails to achieve her fantasy and that her kit has drifted so far away from her original concept that it's causing her to play completely differently. He stated they wanted Eve to be a bursty assassin, and that to give her that burst, her passive is going to have to be looked at or dramatically altetered, considering that permanent stealth consumes too much of her power budget that restricts how they can work with her kit, and that it makes her volatile - if she gets buffed, she can nuke everything, but nerfs can destroy her hard. All of this is why he wants to look into doing a larger scope rework on her.

I would hate to lose the perma-camo but, this is completely on point. Perma-camo is one of the largest advantages that you can give a champ. Entire avenues of gameplay and decision making are made available to Eve that many other champs cannot even consider. To empower any of her active abilities would throw balance out of proportion. That is to say, so much of her power comes from strategic and tactical planning that giving her strong practical tools would be overkill. A fed Eve nuking your carries is bad enough (even though the player deserves the enjoyment of that experience for the accomplishment) but, imagine if she could nuke your carries like that even when your team does "everything right" to counter her?

Play her mid lane and roam.

Or play top lane and split push.

If they aren't on the update schedule then it means there's not much actual progress that's been locked down. Any work on the current iteration could be thrown out if something is decided to be wrong with it so Riot's answer would probably be "as little as 8 months, as much as three years, maybe longer, honestly don't know anything more specific than that."

they don't update that schedule in any meaningful amount of time. The assassin update and ww update are now done. It hasn't been "updated" in months.

More than likely because they don't have anything far enough into the pipeline that it's worth putting on the schedule.

thats not true considering WW and galio has been on that list LONG before they even started touching them to do work on them. They were still doing the assassin changes.

There are multiple rework teams and each of those projects had a separate team working on them all simultaneously. Riot has explained all of this on multiple occasions.

that still doesn't mean they were being worked on at that time... They shelved ww for an entire half season to work on the assassin roster update.

They repeatedly said over and over again that those were done by independent teams and no adjacent reworks affect the timelines of each other. You can say that's not the case but then you are claiming that multiple Rioters flat-out lied to us about their method of work scheduling for no reason at all.

you seem to still not get it lol. You seem to be pushing the "independent teams" thing when that is not at all what I am talking about. I am talking about a project being shelved/started/picked up by that team, whoever it may be.

I don't care what team does a rework, what I want to know is if that rework was STARTED or RESTARTED or not. Like I said, ww was on the list for awhile and it was stated, BY RIOT, that he was shelved for a long time to work on the mage update AND assassin update.

Another good example? Shacos FULL VU/rework was shelved for a long time until he got his mini rework in the assassin update. they did not touch shaco for 2 seasons until they decided to do the assassin roster update.

Why would Warwick have been shelved to work on the Assassin update when literally no one who touched Warwick did anything for the Assassin update? What purpose would it serve to take resources who were working on something and then tell them to instead sit on their hands while a completely different group of people worked on a completely different project?

Work on Warwick was happening simultaneously with work on the Assassin update. The Warwick team was working on Warwick while the Assassin team was working on the Assassin update.

these are RIOTS statements, ask them, not me. WW was suppose to be done long before the assassin update. They have also said multiple times they shelved x champion for x reason. Eve didn't get any updates what so ever for the roster update because they are WAITING to do her VU first, which I am trying to get confirmation if they started yet or not.

do you want more examples? Look at eves current new base splash art. That art was derived from when they were working on eve a couple years ago, but since that iteration was canned they decided to just release the splash as an updated splash art instead but without updating the model. Like I said, just because different teams work on different champions doesn't mean a update can't be paused for a period of time then restarted later or not started on yet at all. The number of teams are limited, how many teams do you think they have?

Their statements indicate that Warwick went on the update schedule when they had enough of his design locked down that they wouldn't have to stop anything until he was done and since he went on the update schedule his team worked continuously until he was done.

Evelynn is not and has never been on the update schedule thus they do not have enough information locked down to be able to give any reliable timeline for her completion.

You are still missing the point and I honestly have no idea how you are at this point. WW has been worked on in the past long before he was added to the update schedule but was iced, shelved, boxed, or whatever cute term riot likes to use for a champion whose update has been paused briefly while they work on something else.

Ill put it this way so you can finally understand, just because a champion is NOT on the update list does NOT mean they are not being worked on. 2ndly, the assassin update AND WW update are done, so we can easily cross out those 2 things from the update list because it is done. What does that mean? It means that aside from galio, the teams over at riot should be working on more champions to update other than just galio, one of which being eve since she is very high on the VGU list. Since eve is very high on the list, it is possible they already started working on her as well as on urgot but did not get around to putting her on the update list.

Do you now see why the list is outdated? The update list is only for champions that are very close to release, not a indication that a champion ISN'T being worked on. To further my point, remember when yoricks reworked kit was teased ages ago? He was no where CLOSE to being done, but that doesn't mean they werent working on him long in advance.

just because a champion is NOT on the update list does NOT mean they are not being worked on.

I never said that was the case.

If a champion is not on the update schedule, then it is possible for any work on them to be iced, shelved, boxed, or straight-up deleted, meaning any estimate for a champion that is not yet on the update schedule simply cannot be produced as Riot doesn't know if their progress towards a completed rework is 10%, 50%, or 0%.

Sukishoo1 votes

They said they shelved past update iterations but that doesn't mean they stopped the project all together or else Warwick would have been released later this year or next. They just dropped the earlier ideas that they had for the champion as they didn't fit what they were looking for.

Sukishoo1 votes

Not true at all. WW, Galio and Assassin updates are all worked on by SEPARATE GROUPS. They have 3 champion update teams, one team works on each project apart from each other.

Sukishoo1 votes

Not really, they usually just update them from time to time. It doesn't really mean they don't have anything that's worth putting up but they usually wait for an announcement post, like the one coming at the end of the month/start of next before the update the list.

After Galio, and I'm guessing quite likely this this year or the next.

I hope not only because I have little to no faith in the rework teams ATM.

Have you guys atleast settled on something art wise?

I hope its a technically improved version of what she currently looks like with no aesthetic changes.
