Helpful Guide

So I am sitting at work and got on my Google Drive for something and found this old text document that I had from years ago that one of my friends who was way better than me at the game made to help try and coach me.

Figured it might be helpful to new players or those who need the advice. The advice is particularly relevant to ADCs but some of it can be applied to any lane. Here ya go.

3 Rules of Solo Q: ● Ward ○ Vision wins games ● Farm ○ CS is more important than kills ○ Kill gold can be fed back. CS is forever ● Don’t Die ○ the #1 priority every game should be low deaths ○ the less you die, the higher your chances of winning are ○ the more you die, the harder you make it for your team to carry you

Runes/Masteries • Always Check before game that you have the right setup

During Loading Screen: ● check summoner spells and make assumptions based on them

Pre-Spawn: ● get on the map early to position as a human ward

Lane Phase: ● make sure you’re there for first cs/exp ● rush lvl 2 ○ 1 wave of 6 minions (3 melee, 3 caster) and then 3 melee minions from the 2nd wave to hit lvl 2 ■ 9 minions total (6 melee, 3 caster) ● calculated aggression ○ item/power spikes ● play off your support ● poke enemy adc while they try to last hit ● attack move to get max dps ○ Map “Attack Champions Only” Button to make sure you wont auto minions or towers during trades/all-ins ● if you’re being zoned out, just stay alive, get as much CS as you can, be patient ● csing under turret ○ melee: 2 turret hits -> 1 auto attack ○ caster: 1 auto attack -> 1 turret hit -> 1 auto attack ● wave management (freeze or shove) ○ Shove when enemy is back and will miss CS as creeps die to tower, especially if you want to back because minion wave will bounce off tower back to the middle of the lane. ○ Only shove when enemy jungler is spotted on map or your jungler is present. ○ How to Freeze: ■ In order to maintain a freeze on your half of the lane, there must be 4 more enemy minions than your own, then those minions will continue to push to you as long as you do not let their minions hit your tower. ■ If there are less than 4, your minions getting to where the waves meet first will slowly start to shove out because they get there first and start dealing damage to opposite wave first. ● efficient use of gold (item choices) ○ Research builds ● map awareness tips ○ Check after each last hit, etc. ○ Get in habit/rhythm where you look at minimap after each CS to train yourself to look frequently ● coming back to lane with your turret down and a minion wave near your tier 2 turret ○ freeze the lane, get your support to roam. farm and stay alive ○ it’s VERY easy to die so make sure you’re staying safe and warding

Team Phase: ● limit your thinking during fights. focus on the 1 or 2 things you need to avoid. keep it simple. ● Focus on your own safety first, damage second. ● Attack whatever is close enough for you to attack, even if it’s a tank. Only attack squishies if they are as close or closer than the enemy tank(s)

Sorry about the bullet points not really working correctly.
