Make it true solo queue, no duos

Solo/Duo has been around since the beginning. Always has, always will. 2 people don't change a game.

We got almost unilateral pushback from pros and high ranked players. A pure solo queue can get pretty lonesome for many, as well as the opportunity to practice bot lane synergies, etc.

Someone asked this internally as well, and Ghostcrawler's response was:

"We also didn't want to reinforce, even in solo queue, that LoL is a game where that you can really just play solo and try and ignore or minimize the other folks on the team. You can never have a pure experience, even in solo queue. The exception is challenger, which is a necessary compromise to preserve reasonable queue times, not because challenger is somehow more pure and therefore deserves real solo."

This would be remedied if the game had voice chat integrated, but as the game is right now, a duo with voice chat is going to have an obvious advantage over the other players.

Also a support main and an adc main that only play ranked in the new solo queue if they're together, will have an inflated rank compared to players who only solo.

You do realise DuoQing affects your MMR, right?

It always has, that's why duoq's have always been acceptable.

yes, it increases the team's total mmr, but it's not enough make a difference to offset the advantage that a duo bot has over 2 solo bot

Said difference is measured in what?

IIRC, Duo Q's used to have a lower succesrate than solo players because the opponents were better players.

I'm not going to use voice chat. I don't talk to strangers nor do I want to. Pinging and typing is fine.

100% agreed. Teams should play against teams, solos - against solos.

Why do they have to force duos upon solo players for the sake of avoiding feelings of loneliness and practicing bot lane synergy?

Can't they just go into the Flex Queue for that? Seems like a poor excuse for not taking that small extra step to make Solo Queue perfect.

Chances are when the pro and high ranked players were asked this, they weren't informed of the Flex Queue being an option you could choose alongside Solo Queue, I could be wrong though.
