Can Luck really carry someone to Gold+

I had a 67% winrate, which is slowly getting ruined the closer i get to Gold. But the closer i get, the more heratic my games are getting. People feeding or who have no idea how to play their role. People who get stomped and have no idea how NOT to feed when they're behind in lane. Overconfident people who think they can dive 1v5. etc.

What left me dumbfounded was that a lot of these bad players were Gold 5. How the hell did they get to gold in the first place???

I understand a noob getting a win streak and being placed in Silver after his placement match, but to Gold??? G5 is a long run from s5. I tend to check the profiles of those bad players, maybe a duo partner helped them, but some have that little icon which says ''Solo preference'' which means that luck carried them to gold.

I feel like i don't have control over the flow of the game anymore. Whoever gets the most bad players is doomed from the start. It's depressing.
