Isn't the point of pro players to adapt and make the most of a well balanced game?

Why the fucking hell does the entire game have to turn into URF for months straight because the balance team decides to cater to the pro scene specifically when it should naturally be the other way around?

Because the balance team doesn't actually balance for pro play, they just use pro play as a scapegoat for the state of the game.

No. It shouldn't.

Pro play is the tippy-top of play and how the game is ideally played: A coordinated 5v5 battle with mechanically skilled players (or whoever hit Challenger in NA I guess).

You also ignore the fact that trickle down exists. The reason we have bot lane as-is today was because of the OG "Euro botlane" of Season 1 that became copied in normal play after pros started doing it. Pros doing things will inadvertantly shift the bottom level meta, which in turn makes the game more dynamic even if they don't necessarily know why it's the best strat (See: The patch stretch where we had double bruiser bot)

Bottom line is that if you want the game to improve, balance more around pros.

EDIT: It's also easier for a bad player to get better (Bronze to go up) than for a good player to get worse (Diamond 1 player to go down)

Because you got it fucked up: Pro play is ACTUAL League of Legends. Solo queue is the "fucked up" balancing of the game.

Solo queue has a ton of extra inhibitors in the way. Things like "people being god awful at the champ", "people inting", "people drafting poorly because X", "lack of coordination between people", and so on. If solo queue balance reflected actual champion power levels, some champs like Sejuani, Yi, Lux, Sona, Garen, Kayle, and many more, would be drastically different, and some of them would be for the WAY worse, and thus would need drastic buffs (just a note before you guys downvote the shit out of me for saying the truth).

if its balanced for us, champs like kalista, azir, and ryze who thrive in a professional setting will just be picked/banned every pro game

its not about balance, it's about enforcing a meta. Refusing to touch atdent last year in the worlds patch did so much damage to the player base that riot is overcompensating by trying to force a one shot meta. Of course getting one shot out of nowhere by everything is just as miserable for the average players as the adc being untouchable because of ardent, maybe even more so, but it looks flashy so riot doesn't care.

No, adapting is obviously helpful though. Their job is to win games and entertain. If you leave something in a state of being OP and Worlds starts, every game can become about that thing and it makes the tournament so awful to watch. Think of old LB or Ardent Censer.

Also an amateur in any sport has no grounds to suggest the way a game should be at a pro level. Imagine if in football they made goals as small as amateur goals. There would be much less goals and the game wouldn't be very exciting.

You have training wheels when you play in school like softer and lighter balls (comparable to Garen, Master Yi, Vayne etc. All stronger in lower elos)

It is funny cuz most Pros are not happy with the state of the game and have been complaining for awhile.

Double funny, they balance towards Worlds where they get a huge amount of income, but because they are balancing towards Worlds the game is becoming less fun which means people are losing interest which means less people going to Worlds which means less income. So them balancing towards Worlds is killing their playerbase, Worlds, and most importantly their Income.

That's the whole point of pro play. To highlight the power of coordination, team play and skills that you'll never get in a typical solo queue game. Solo Q players may not know how to use Ryze properly, and pro play is where we can see the extent of a well-used Ryze's capability. This should be accepted, not nerfed immediately.

It used to be. The problem comes from 2 things.

1 Meta for Views They want people to watch, this is good for them, the players (no audience, no job) and the viewers. This is in certain cases bad for us.

2 The game is played at it's highest level and thus "as it should be"

The problem with the highest level of play is that every champ is played to it's fullest potential. While technically that's the way it should be played. It's not the fun way to play. As a player in silver i can play every champ and lose or win based on wether our team actually has better players. Because the skill levels are actually fairly different. At Pro play level that skill difference becomes so small and at worlds where the elite of the elite face off the level in pro play team skills also become quite close. This leads to the smallest advantage a champ has over all the others being relevant.

And thus for pro play to not be azir vs the world he has to be garbage in the higher solo play elo's. However garen is also not allowed to be a good pick because of his statcheck melee nature and domination of low elo. Bringing garen up by giving him tools that can be used in varying optimal use cases is easier than taking stuff away from azir. Garen getting skill expression with his updated W feels good. He becomes stronger if i use it correctl but he still plays like garen. Taking stuff away from azir feels bad.

My opinion. Balance for us. The game won't exist without us, pro play won't exist without us and the audience won't exist without us.

What about the shit that breaks pro play? what about azir or shen or ryze or even gnar? ban them from pro. Just don't allow them to be played in pro matches. Obviously this shouldn't count for the more "for fun" tournaments riot hosts like the eu vs na. This would give the pro's atleast some reason to look forward to those as they're actually a huge hassle for them.

The Meta is pretty ok in my opinion

Cuz Pro Players are just big walking bags of money, who cares about the 99% of the fan base
