Let people know about ping and packet loss BEFORE joining a game

And prevent 500+ ping players from joining the queue. Quite honestly, it's not fun for you, it's not fun for your team, AND it's not fun for the enemy team.

Just make the game run a pingtest every 5 seconds while you're queuing up to the riot servers, and display the result. Is that really that hard?

I love losing games because our Blitz says "lag", wanders around for ten minutes grabbing nothing, then disconnects altogether (or even better, hangs out and feeds).

It should check your ping several times during champ select, and if it determines you've got a shitty connection, boot you. (At least from ranked.) ~Uiru

It would be nice if up in the corner of the game client it showed your current ping that you would be having in game.

That would definitely take up too much bandwidth to do constantly (as that would literally be Riot DDoSing themselves), but only displaying/testing it while in queue at least sounds feasible.

I'd rather they fix the ping issues altogether

Not possible due to technological constraints and general connectivity issues that exist. If there is a problem with your connection and riot's connection, it doesn't matter who's fault it is, it's not going to result in a fun game.
