Why do people ban Darius in low ELO?
Why? Whenever he is open people don't pick him, if he's picked, then he's still pretty bad and needs to snowball for becoming a problem in early skirmishes. Why do people in low ELO ban him?

cause they are dumb as fuck darius needs some serious buff other juggernauts too they suck balls in this ardent cancer meta
Because No one knows how to beat him and he's super strong and easily fed in low elo because they just give him kills
You see, us low elo players have a little something that I like to call...
"Retardation"
You see, we don't understand the concept of playing safe, walking out of his Q range, poking him, ect. His E hitbox is beyond bullshit and if you get dragged in you're just... dead.
low elo players:
ugh, why do i have to farm? its soo boring. i just want to 1v5 and get pentakills and kill people its way more fun

Couldn't have put it better myself :3
I'm under the impression it's because, like yasuo and yi, people don't actively play their counters enough to see how weak they are. Ignoring yi (whose a jungler, and thus isn't really "countered" by anything that doesn't stop his lategame), here's a list of things that destroy them:
-Talon (counters both) -Quinn (counters yasuo) -Rumble (I've been told that he's a hard-counter to both, with darius being more of a skill matchup of sorts as he can always flash/all in cheese) -Mordy (counters yas, but the darius matchup isn't unbearable) -Tahm Kench (counters yas, hard countered by darius) -Illaoi (pretty sure counters both, definitely counters yas though) -Nasus (hard countered early by darius, but from what I can understand he completely destroys yas if you are able to get 1-2 armor items) -Fiora (am pretty sure hard counters both) -akali (from what I can understand she hard counters both, have seen her more into yasuos though) -Renekton (hard counters yas, not sure about the darius matchup) -Jayce (am pretty sure hard-counters both due to the sheer poke he brings)
renek vs darius can be won by renek if he knows how to disengage and trade properly, else hes not much of a threat do a darius.
Because he's completely unfun to play against. It's the same reason
get banned. All of them fluctuate different win rates but all of them turn the game into cancerous shitfests regardless.
Wait, Heimer is unfun to play against? Unless you're building literally no MR, he's ridiculously easy to play around/outright kill. Same with illaoi (fun fact: both are hard-countered by the majority of assassins).

Unfun as hell to play against before
or
as a melee, unless its supposed to be fun to get poked to half hp by autotargeting turrets whenever you go in for cs.
The problem of course is that while those items are good in theory, they do nothing to actively stop. him. It's often why I tell people that the best way to counter him isn't buy building an actual MR item, but moreso to build a banner. Since those turrets are AP-based, he'll often struggle to actively clear it and/or burn a ton of resources to do so. Also, the notion that melee's somehow struggle vs him is kinda hilarious, as barring things like garen/shen who lack any sort of ranged utilities, he tends to struggle quite hard against any melee who can jump onto him and/or out-dps him.
plus illaoi has no cc in her kit (unless you count that dumb slow from walking outside the range on her spirit pull thing.
his bleed makes it hard to play low hp characters without armor. since he has armor penetration and true damage you have to build hp items, but most low level players have 1-3 champions they can play well enough to consider an option in ranked. since low level players dont know how to add damage on the fly in order to know if they can commit to an effective all-in usually darius's execute catches them by surprise as their cooldowns are resetting.
for the same reasons they ban yasuo or master yi.
they come "delete" them (while their half HP) twice, and that champ is now considered broken
I can't speak for others, but I ban him because I play Nasus.
because he's aids to fight if he's competent enough to get his hemorrhage stacks off.
he's pretty much melee teemo with a garen ult that resets on kill.
*edit he's a terrible champion regardless, if you have half a brain you can beat him, and he only bullies a direct few but for people learning to play league, it's like putting your hands into a blender.
Why can't elementary schoolers solve a quadratic equation?
people in low elo ban him because alot of the time they like to 1v1, trade/duel, and all in, and they tend to focus alot on the laning phase. Here, lane bullies, and darius can appear to be strong in this sense thanks to his kit. his passive helps all-ins, his q sustains, his w and e can engage or stop disengages, and his ult can chunk people for huge amounts of hp, making him seem unfair to fight. however his weaknesses include getting kited and his own mobility, not something thats abused very well in lower elos, even further contributing to the perception that he is "overpowered/broken". this makes him someone terrifying to fight in the eyes of a low elo player, but in the eyes of someone at a higher elo, they see someone with no escapes or mobility, and someone that can be easily ganked (when ganked properly). they see someone who can lose trades against someone with good disengages, and an ult that relies on kills to reset, not assists. on top of this, players in lower elos would rather avoid a problem rather than try to solve it, since it ends up being easier, and this is done by banning him.
put all this together, and you have a champion that seems OP, terrifying, broken, and undefeatable at low elos, but easily countered by anyone with range/kiting ability, solid disengage, or even more mobility in some cases, all of which tend to become more present as you climb up the ranks.
Because 1.They like to go recklessly when enemy is low, which is a mistake vs darius, because of his healing and stacks. 2.To stop him, your entire team needs to focus him, which in low elo,yea..people dont communicate.
doesnt really need to be fully focused by the entire team, or much of it really. if hes getting kited he can easily lose a 1v1, or if his opponent has a good enough disengage to stop his passive from stacking, it helps too.
Because there is no difference between a good or bad champion in bronze. Darius is a fucking pain, so he gets banned
Cause it's low elo.
