You better hotfix Thresh, Nunu, Gragas and Twitch too if you're doing it for Singed

PBE changes tested for 2 month, but one day after the patch you want to hotfix him because he's too strong, the fuck you tested? Why not hotfix the others too since they have been in need of an hotfix for much more than one day?

The PBE has basically never been an effective way to test balance. Its there to weed out as many gamebreaking -bugs as possible.

xelaker6 votes

people think it's only for balance for some reason... On top of that, PBE only tests new updates on a very small group of persons, so live updates need fine tuning.

Melledoneus3 votes

In fact, Riot closely observes the first few weeks of a champion's release to see how well they perform. Since everyone bans the new champions regardless, they have to extend that to a few months.

I mean, PBE's not a good place to judge balance, the playerbase if very limited there, so you end up with bronze singed players facing Diamond + Toplaners and vice versa. It's primarily used for bugtesting

Azteryz12 votes

inner playtesting: make sure it even works as intended pbe:check if there are any broken bugs + general feed back live: entire scan of bugs and feed back

General Esdeath 8 votes

PBE isn't a balance program, it's just for YouTubers to show off new things and test for bugs. It's unbalanced in matchmaking, has horrible ping for some people, and the champs are fresh.

Escheton7 votes

Well, he was fine on PBE because only Singed mains play Singed. And they aren't on pbe so much. So when their dumpstered champ suddenly became good they started playing and winning en masse.

I agree those guys need nerf, but jumping 7 percent in win rate is a quite noticeable thing.

INoble KnightI2 votes

Cause people actually wanna play him now and people don't know how to play against him. Give it a week or so and it'll level out.

20 minutes1 votes

jumping 7 percent in winrate doesn't make a sound logic argument to nerf, unless there is a context. The context is most Singed players are OTP, which doesn't justify to a nerf. and what is the problem of letting Singed op, because of you guys and Riot having favoritism over other champions?

Snowplosion3 votes

No, when a champion hits a 55 win rate after a direct buff they deserved to be nerfed no matter who the fuck is playing them. You guys champion the unpopular champions because they are unpopular. Thresh, Gragas, and Twitch need nerfs badly, but it doesn't stop the fact that Singed also clearly needs nerfs.

20 minutes1 votes

i know but wouldn't it be unfair when you compare the play rate between singed and those popular champions? do you think singed will have the same win rate if his play rate is more than 10%? definitely no. if you are trying to make a fair argument, then singed nerf is not justified. if you are suggesting nerf based on win rate, you claim is right.

No. If a champions playerbase got demoted 2 divisions because of how bad their champion has become, 55% is perfectly normal after that champion is fixed. They will rise the 2 divisions and get back to 50%. Logic.

OK here's the issue though. Some champs rise to that winrate over a little while, they may be op immediately after a patch but very few people figure it out then. In this case he's spiked heavily after a day. Odds are as people figure out how to play him better with the new passive that number will go UP. They're nipping it in the bud, and it looks like most of the nerfs are on his cooldowns and not his numbers so it'll just be giving him slightly longer windows of downtime. Honestly I'd rather they just make the potion improvement on Dark Seal unique so that he can lose lane. Its bullshit that you have to essentially kill him three times per recall because he bought three of those cheap as shit items and has a corrupting pot. (Not that I'm saying he is unbeatable in lane. But now that he's strong maybe they can remove that pain in the ass stacking thing before changing his numbers and see how it goes)

Completley agree

The Yetii Rider3 votes

Thresh and Gragas got stronger because of item changes. Riot has to decide whether they want to hit the champs or just nuke the items themselves.

Singed is stronger because his entire build path has changed. He can build AP, he can build full tank, he doesn't need mana anymore. That's a big big switch up, and he gained bonus mobility on top of all that.

Singed hasn't "built mana" in 2-3 years.

Pretty sure Righteous Glory and Frozen Heart were still built on Singed until recently.

Neither built for the actual mana. The mana is an afterthought.

The Yetii Rider2 votes

It still gave you mana to manage Singed's exorbitant mana costs (which are all down) and made him tankier than if it was built on other characters.

20 minutes1 votes

the only reason you build RG was the active, and catalyst build path for sustain in lane (which was changed later). mana is never an issue to singed (at least to OTP).

The Yetii Rider2 votes

Singed had all of his mana costs reduced. If he built no mana before and builds no mana now, he is far less restricted by the same build than he was previously.

TonyTonyMordecai2 votes

What did they hotfix on him?

invisiblecat11 votes

He has no been hotfixed yet, but they said something about nerfing his HP, and increasing the cooldowns of his W and R

PBE changes tested for 2 month

Correction: 2 weeks. Singed's changes weren't there in May.

but one day after the patch you want to hotfix him because he's too strong

48% win rate and about 1% play rate to 56% win rate and about 5% play rate over night. Yeah, he was too strong afterwards.

the fuck you tested?

Looking for bugs with the catching up to people passive and the grounded effect.

Oh, and let's not forget everyone was playing Kayn, not Singed.

Why not hotfix the others too since they have been in need of an hotfix for much more than one day?

If the others had their win rate shoot up 8% in a single day you can bet they'd be hotfixed too.

Danjeng1 votes

I don't see the hotfix in patch notes.

Danjeng7 votes

Okay what the fuck? Why are they planning on nerfing Singed just a couple of days after this patch? I have not seen a single Singed yet in my games, besides myself for one game, and I fed. Thresh is totally fine though. He's an interesting champion and deserves to be picked in more games than he is not. Ugly or uncool champions like Singed are ew.

Seriously this is ridiculous. I really hope the balancing team doesn't go through with this shit. I don't even play Singed (I played him once), but I think he's one of the most unique champions. New edgy champions are flashy, but not unique. They have parts of their kit that already belong to another champion, just shinier. No champion plays like Singed.

Jinzo Torrance2 votes

But they can hotfix him, the problem it's not that, it's just that they need to admit that they have double-standards and then they need to hotfix every other champions who has been keeping a 54% WR for months (instead of a single day) since these champion are currently immune to these hotfixes every single patch.

LyingOnLine6 votes

They hotfix nerfed Nunu last patch. They're nerfing the others.

This is not some bizarre aberration.

Jinzo Torrance2 votes

They need to hotfix the others, Nunu lost 3 armor and 2HP per 5 in an hot fix, for Singed they want to reduce base HP, increase CD on W and R in an hotfix, seems like Thresh and Gragas nerfs qualify for the hotfix too.

I know right they should lower how much armor thresh gets per level, right now it is outrageous

Can't tell if sarcasm or not...

Its sarcasm or idiocy because thresh doesn't get armor per level.
