This is a compilation of a couple projects I've been working on.

Rageblade: http://i.imgur.com/OwB4sEa.jpg or this less significant change: http://i.imgur.com/vQwQyO8.jpg But for the most part, I'd just be happy with removing the cooldown on surge and having a new build path. Original thread here Just want to specify. For some that might be alarmed. that you get 20% spellvamp but only 10% can stack with gunblade and/or wota item. This encourages the use of rageblade as a single sustain item. however it will still synergize nicely withg unblade. You won't lose much. Also I've run this by a few good players and a couple have told me the active might be a bit much and I agree.

Maybe they could do more like ludens and have 65 flat damage(instead of scaling with ad) +5 dmg per level (plus 25% ap) until your ap exceed x amount then It would switch to current equation.

These are pretty minor changes that yield great return in overall effectiveness of the items. I think the changes deserve testing on PBE as I believe they could offer great insight. Of course these numbers, while fairly conservation, are entirely subject to change. Its mainly to get the general idea across to then hand over to riot for them to do the number crunching.

Could use some help on the spellblade description for lichbane. I'm trying to say that it will spellvamp off of no more damage than how much damage you do when it switches over from the bottom equation to the top. but youll still be spellvamping even when you switch equations just not on the additional

ohh so you'll spellvamp off the total SpellBlade damage minus the the results from (top equation - bottom equations, but only when the top equation is greater than bottom). I'm sure there's a cleaner way to write this. Though just writing spellvamps off a portion of the damage should be sufficient. People can refer to the wikia to find out the exact amount.

personnaly i think rageblade would be fine with just no cooldown on its surge and 20% spellvamp added to it. a better build path would be nice as well.

20% spellvamp is not as big as it sounds. When you consider that there aren't that many single target spells as well as consider the cooldown on spells.

you know 10% spell vamp is only 275 gold worth. One thing to note however is that the extra 10% spellvamp i'm asking to add out of the full 20% spellvamp could be made to not stack with other spellvamp items. Kind of like how you cannot stack two blood thirsters. That would keep rageblade from perhaps getting out of hand on say akali. a small note at the bottom could read: 10% of the spellvamp is lost when combined with other spellvamp items.

The main goal here is to encourage the use of rageblade as a standalone sustain item. Since it will likely be used on champions like udyr, shen, xinzhao, warwick, irelia, shyvana, poppy who have their own form of sustain/built in tankyness.

seeing as how 10% spellvamp is only 275 gold worth (like 5%lifesteal) and that its only available when you're below 50% health its technically half that, a measly 137.5 gold worth of stats. So even if you were to stack them and lose 10% spellvamp below 50% health it would not be a big deal. the overall synergy that it might have with your champion as well as with another hybrid item would makeup for this. You'll still be able to stack the lifesteal for example giving you 20% lifesteal if below 50% health with rageblade bortk.

Example of how a hybrid top laner might build: Buy the Guinsoo's butter knife and the Bilgewater Revolver first. Then proceeds to build tanky. This would be a hybrid's equivalent to say a trundle going bilgwater cutlass and phage. or a riven going brutalizer and tiamat. That way they have two midgrade sustain items to hold them over and provide some damage while they build tanky. They can then decide to continue building tanky or completeing the items. Where as currently if i'm building gunblade for the slow active and ap+spellvamp I'd have to complete gunblade (3400gold) delaying building any tanky item and still not having attackspeed /sheen to complement it.

http://i.imgur.com/JGwECcY.jpg Added this, you could make it like the iceborn gauntlet example I made, instead of a swipe bar. Where you hover over the two items to select from. The tree/build path to gunblade will then change based on your selection

Definitely interesting ideas, A big problem with rageblade right now is that the item and components cost a lot upfront and the item isn't effective until the whole thing is complete. Some sort of middle ground item like the butterknife would help in laning phase and be more of an attractive buy.

I still think the item in general needs a few tweaks because I feel the item has such a small pool of champions that would benefit the most from it.

The whole idea of these middle ground items is to help champions in the early/middle game when they need to hit a spike but can't invest into a complete end-game item.

been trying bard a lot lately, i think the option to choose from a less mana costly ice born gauntlet would be nice on him. he doesn't need all that mana as he already has a support item. it would also bring it to a price point similar to other support items. his q fairly low coodlown on it, and since he has no damage source anywhere else. this would be good. as a support you do want a tiny bit of damage to finish off people. it sucks when your full hp as support and can't take down someone with 10% hp like aatrox. i even had morrellonomicon and couldn't kill him because i have no way to get a spike in damage. being able to proc sheen would be good on supports as they tend to go full cdr. hence why a buff to lichbaneand ibg would be nice.
