Why can't bot laners give up tower?

4~5 man dive bot is basically what happens every game now, but what I don't quite understand is why many bot laners refuse to just leave tier 2 tower? The 2 of them obviously can't defend the tower, just giving extra kills and number advantage to enemy.

Nobody expects the legendary 5-man gank, and by then its too late to run.

Or they probably saw a youtube video with some high-elo player getting a pentakill under tower and think they can do it too
