Why Is Jinx Not In Meta?

As a Jinx main I have mastery level 7 on Jinx and started on it as soon as it became available. Jinx is my most enjoyed champion to play as well but one thing I have noticed and seen for a long time now is Jinx not being played in the lcs or not by many other high level players.

Sometimes me and my friend talk about our favorite champs and despite all the success I have had with Jinx her not being in meta always comes up in the conversation. As my friend and some other people say that Jinx is not in meta because she lacks mobility yet she has chompers to slow advanced and can be used to kite around. Not only that, When Jinx gets a kill or an assist her passive procs allowing her to get bonus movement speed and an attack speed boost which stacks up. Paired with AOE rockets and this creates a devastating impact on the enemy team.

With the recent bumps in the pbe as of now, Jinx is getting a 50% damage increase on her ultimate at max range/damage and 15% increase at short range/damage. Is this an attempt or the start of putting her back into the meta? It seems kinda random for a champion that has had nothing happen to her since pre season and then out of no where a champion that seems pretty solid as is getting a buff despite not being played in pro or lcs play. Is this one of many buffs to come? I am not pushing for buff but am starting to wonder what is upcoming for the champion I main.

she is in the meta. Ashe, cait, maybe lucian and jhin rank higher tho

Lcs meta tends to have a lot of high mobility characters with reposition moves built into kits. Then they have the hard cc champs which Jinx doesn't really fit into despite chomps. If an adc can't do either or both then they will be to risky most likely for an lcs tournament.

So according to this logic does that mean Jinx will never be played in the lcs again unless she gets a rework on one of her skills?

No, she will be played and has in the past. But until the current top picks are balanced out, there is little chance for Jinx to becoma a popular pick. Kinda like Ezreal.

I don't quite think that the case.

Pretty much since the Juggernaut update, I've notice that the game has been moving towards a fighter meta. (Or rather a Hybrid meta) True tanks are having a hard time competing against a class who has both damage and defense, and also means that there team has more threats over all.

As a result, the "Protect the Carry comp" kinda lost it's footing. Since more champ are not able to either shred the tank, or dive the carry without dying. And since they are not relying on the Protect the carry comp, Hypercarries have been shoved to the say side, either for carries that offer more early game pressure, (Lucian, Jhin, League of Snowball) or Utility carries that offer other effects to their team. (Ashe, Sivir)

All it would take is a meta shift for her to fall back into favor.

Dunno tbh. If the talk about bans going up is true and hits lcs it could shake up their meta quiet a bit. As far as seeing current play dunno again. Pros are only gonna pick the immobile adc with the most use for team. Atm I see ashe being a stronger pick than Jinx just for the on demand stun.

Don't get me wrong here I think Jinx is perfectly good. I'm just trying to look at it how the pros might. Maybe if she got a minor speed buff on minion kills she would see more lcs play. Atm many of her skills just don't seem to work as well as others at that level of play. A snare (soft cc) with a delayed active, a heavily telegraphed zap, Q toggle is pretty awesome, and an ult that can have less than reliable results depending on who you are against and how situationally aware the enemy team is.

In LCS level play, players go for the OP champs most of the time, which is why you see such a stagnant champion pool for most roles.

Sivir and Lucian are good examples of eternally popular picks in pro play. Sivir because her ult is just too OP on a coordinated team, and Lucian because he has so much mobility and raw power in his kit.

she doesnt hypercarry as hard as twitch/kog, she doesnt skirmish well thanks to her no escapes, she takes too long to scale.

so you basically have a champ that sucks early on and even if she gets her 6 item dream she basically just gets destroyed by twitch/kog who have an even better 6 item dream.
