Can we disable new champs in draft pick for a while after their release?

They get banned anyway, its a waste of a ban slot

I'd suggest only in Ranked. Someone picking them in a normal draft is completely fine.

I actually like this idea. Give 'em like a week before they can be picked in draft (ranked at least).

Sure, we can disable them in Bronze. /s

Everywhere else, people are competent enough to learn a champion quickly and this issue is moot.

Define quickly. There is no way you can really master a new champion in less than 50 games and expect to win consistently in ranked with them.

Quickly as in figure out the mechanics of a champion quickly, theory craft a working build, and find similarities in other champions you've played.

And if it takes you 50 games to play a champion at a winnable rate, sorry, but you are a very slow learner. I see Silver II+ players all the time playing new champions and doing good to great with them (sometimes with less than 5 games played as them.) Again, this is only an issue with unskilled/low mmr players (who might be just as bad with other champions anyways.)

So far Kindred has a 45% win rate. I do not want someone playing a new champ with that kind of win rate on my team for ranked the first week or two.

While there may be a HANDFUL of good Kindred players, 95% of them will lose you the game. This is just common sense.

Because the community is still developing strategies (and Ranked, like it or not, is the best place to figure them out.)

I'm sorry, but this is absolutely the most fail thing I have read anywhere. Normal is where you figure things out, not Ranked.

the only hard part of kindred is orb walking she is very very easy to play.

I haven't tried Kindred yet, so I can't say much about her. However, as a general rule, most champs cannot be mastered in less than a week even by high level players. So there should be AT LEAST a week ban before a champ can play ranked.

You need to have a champion available in ranked so you can start gauging it's power level as soon as possible. Testing in normals is a waste of time since people don't take it seriously, there's massive skill gaps between players, and both teams usually have the champion anyway.

No, because the ban slot is used to ban them away.

That's like people banning Darius 80% of the time and being all "hurr durr op" when his win rate in worlds is abyssal. People do it and they will continue to do it until new champions and reworks come out for them to ban. That's literally 100% of the banning phase.
