Here's my problem with how this game's handled balance-wise now.

How about a lower value that doesnt get removed when in combat :l? 10-20-30 incombat movementspeed can be quite strong, and thats what i mainly see people complain about

To which Meddler replied with

That'd certainly make it strong, we like the idea of strategic mobility (as opposed to mid combat) because it changes how you play when you've got the buff or are playing against a team with the buff though. In combat movement speed by contrast's a generically good stat that doesn't change decision making as much."

Talking about a 'generally good stat that doesn't change decision making as much' when Infernal Drake is considered the best drake and just lets you roll over teams with the damage buff.

In-combat movement speed is a more balanced 'generally good stat' for a drake to have because it makes you better at team-fighting without making you essentially better at stat-checking.

If anything, Cloud should provide general MS while Infernal is adjusted. Neither would change how you handle situations. They'd both just makes you stronger; simply make it so games are in the favor of those who take it, which wasn't the intent of the drake changes that came with 6.9. However, Cloud would be more balanced and make the game less absurdly one-sided as it is now with Infernal.

IMO, both should see changes, since neither really currently change decision making. However, for the Rioter in charge of balance to say Infernal is fine while Cloud would be a problem with general movement speed is laughable. Infernal is as 'general power' as 'general power' gets.

Honestly, I wonder if people actually know what the Infernal Dragon does every time they make a comment on it.

I mean that from a number's standpoint. If you actually backed up and calculated things, Infernal Dragon isn't that impressive.

8/16/24%.

You're saying that making Deathcap ~23% (8/35) stronger at a minimum isn't impressive? Essentially being a free Deathcap at max stacks+Elder? Did I mention its also the only way to directly multiply AD, which is ABSURDLY efficient in combination with AD's other scaling factors on anyone stacking it.

3% increased anything is enough to throw things out of balance in this game. Look at several masteries that have changed over the seasons. Look at buffs and nerfs that have completely changed metas that are just as small.

8% at a minimum is massive if you take that into consideration. The way this game's stats interact make even a slight upset in numbers between two teams into an incredibly one-sided game. That's one reason why the old drake had its global gold removed; let you buy a component earlier even if you didn't participate, letting you steamroll your lane in a lot of situations if your team grabbed two or so. 125 gold isn't 'significant' in most people's eyes either. You can't even buy anything outside of potions with that. Yet, on the other hand, item cost increases/decreases by the same amount bring them into and out of favor.

You can look at any 'change' and say it won't fix/break anything based on how minuscule the change is overall, but this game has a history of completely changing metas based on very small adjustments.

Its silly to say 8-32% increased AP+AD isn't significant when you take that into consideration.

You're not calculating anything. You're just spouting what's written and not actually analyzing.

See this is the kind of logic that confirms to me nobody actually calculates shit. Since we're bringing masteries into this, check out Mandango's analysis on Veteran's Scars. This is analyzation done right. Don't bullshit the argument with open ended statements like "OH LOOK AT HOW 3% CHANGED ENTIRE METAS", fucking calculate your numbers and apply your reasoning based on solid, factual evidence, instead of at best inductive reasoning.

Complaining about Infernal Drake yet again.

Mountain Drake is still the strongest Drake.

Maximum kek right here, good sir.

Who's complaining about Infernal? I'm just saying that Cloud granting general movement speed would provide the same amount of decision-making as Infernal. Which is to say very little.

Because of this, there's no reason for Cloud not to grant general movement speed unless infernal is considered a problem as well. Cloud would be just as in-demand as Infernal if it were to grant general MS. Considering they want all of them to be equally powerful, its silly to allow low decision-making on one but not make changes to another because it wouldn't change how you play significantly.

**Its another example of 'favoritism', rather than applying the same ideals to all relevant factors. **
