Advice needed: What decision do you make when you get camped?

AstroFerrari ··4 votes·482 views

Do you just sit under turret and do you best to farm? (You eventually get outleveled and still can't make any decisive moves against your lane opponent)

or

Do you just stall for mid game and hope there is a way for you to come back? (Assuming your team is losing in general)

I just want some more perspective on this question cause I find that if I get camped, even I do manage to make somewhat of a come back it usually doesn't culminate in a win. Either too many towers were lost or an enemy got too fed to fast.

It really depends.

If you can continue to draw attention, then that's really good for your team. If your jungler can make plays in other lanes or if another lane is doing well.

If the other lanes are losing, and your jungler is losing, and you are only player on your team above your counterpart, and your team doesn't have an amazing mid or late, then you gotta take risks lol. or just lose.

It might be different mid because I can place some cheeky wards, so I can continually pressure my opponent and the enemy jungler.

You basically need summoner 4 to do so though, just in case.

This is a,lot of good advice, but I'd like to add on to the pass-turret point.

Handing over an outer turret can be an incredibly powerful strategic decision. I recently played a game where I gave up CS and a turret, but by watching jungler patterns and waves I managed to incur 3 kills and 2 turrets.

A lot of people consider losing turret something taboo, especially below gold. And to give it up for no reason, sure that's bad. But instead of dying under turret you have, the way I see it, three options:

A) Give up turret, stay in lane. Let the waves push, and freeze just behind the rubble that was your tower. You now have a very safe place to farm, and the freedom to ward around river and in the jungle between waves.

B) Shove lane, farm Jungle. This is typically the wrong answer, honestly. Some champs can clear jungle quickly and safely, but most run out of steam somewhere. This also tilts some jungles (generally low), so be wary. But when it works, you can drink in XP and gold at an incredible rate.

C) Shove, and roam. This is a hard one to recognize, but can be far more effective. Mind the lanes near you, and watch for the wave to start pushing towards your team's tower. When it turns that way, shove your lane out and go help them. Done right, you can delay your own turret falling long enough to take one other. Be mindful of the enemy jungler when doing this, though, and try to stay on top of wards.

well if you are getting 2 or 3 people to your lane... they lose expeirence and cs too.. cuz that has to be split among them... it sucks for u cuz you feel ineffective in the game but its good for your team who and pressure and take objectives else where knowing that the jungler and mid is up your ass in top lane.

Stall for mid game, chances are you have good enough waveclear and have at least 1 lategame champion on your team.

It's always better to, if you know the enemy can't dive you, farm at turret if you're getting camped. To leave your turret and push your lane means a likelihood of death. Also, unless you pushed way too far, the enemy team shouldn't be able to zone you out of EXP range of their minions by forcing you to sit at turret.

There are now 3 different threads going that started in the past hour on this same topic.

I feel like it really depends on your role in the game.

As an ADC main, I usually can tell that I will be behind based on the lane matchup or early levels. I tell my team early that I will be playing passively and pick up all the farm that i can and wait for ganks, and if they don't come, I wait for the enemy to take my tower and go to mid lane. Then I ward the river and shove the lane so I can try to get some good tower chip damage. I back, pick up a good item for my goal of split push farming (like runaans or bf sword instead of my bork rush), and wait for my big power spikes at 2 and 3 items. Then I group up and shred team fights.

I am a weak laner by nature, and this kind of play style has won me a lot of games I should have lost. At certain points, you have to learn that you are SOOOOO far behind, that even if you went to defend that mid tower, or stop that split push, you would just die and they would get the tower anyway, so pick up what you can where you can.

EDIT: Also, learning when to just say enough is enough, and give up your tower for free is huge. If you are behind, and they send 3 people bot for your 800 hp tower, it is falling. If you are with it, you just give them more gold.

Farm under the turret and hope my teammates are doing something.

Ping your jungler to gank your other lanes and your other lanes to push or take objectives. Then freeze outside your tower.

If I'm top lane and got camped, I'll stay under turret if the matchup is still even (like if I counter my lane) and tell my team to grab dragon and force a turret down. If the enemy lane is too far ahead for me to do anything, I'll grab a jungle camp or try to make a play in another lane when I know it's safe from being counterganked.

grug

if your jungler is doing nothing else on the map to respond, then i'd probably just flame him and call him boosted or multi season bronze watever then proceed to spam surrender votes and continue farming wherever possible
