Urgot: General Thoughts

For an Urgot rework what I would like to see:

~ Keep him as a marksman.

~ Have Urgot fully as a marksman and nothing that places him into the middle of the enemy team. His ultimate is super cool and unique, but it is better suited for a new champion with a kit built around it rather than make Urgot a completely new champions based on an ultimate.

~ Fully realize Urgot's fantasy as a terrifying undead marksman mutation spliced monster thing from Zaun that runs down and slaughters his prey. Basically the horror film marksman, deadly and not just with his hideous looks.

~ Introduce better counter play. Sure you have to land a skill shot for the super long range artillery fire, but even then it never feels fair to play against, also rather have Urgot not as an artillery marksman (this should be Kog'Maw technically), we can have him be a brute force pursuer instead to kill his opponent in the least pretty way possible.

~ Ensure Urgot is fun to play as. This should be obvious, just wanted to say it! =P

~ Acid Hunter spam is fun and weaving it between attacks and Acid Hunter is a cool skill element, this element also grants Urgot very high sustain damage to scale really well into the late game. Besides for Acid Hunter, his entire kit probably and should get a complete rework, and one that builds around Acid Hunter which plays on his marksman aspect (take the most fun thing about his kit and build off of that).

~ Current P+W+E are all very powerful abilities that feel lackluster for the user, despite their high power, and makes playing against Urgot very overwhelming whenever he is strong. R just straight up being very cool, but inappropriate for Urgot unless we completely change Urgot's identity (which makes more sense to make a new champion with the swap ultimate than delete Urgot and make a new champion with his name); this is me repeating myself at this point.

Riot already pretty much confirmed they are reworking him into a top lane juggernaut lane bully

They better not, we don't have very many marksmen and Urgot I want as a marksman, place if he was anything else it basically them deleting a champion and making a new one with Urgot's name and I don't like that.

So better to have Urgot as a marksman and use his current swap ultimate for a new champion.

There are 20 ADC's in league. There are plenty of them. Also Urgot has never been a marksman he has always been a top laner and always been better there. The point of a full scale rework is to change the entirety of the champion. His ult is straight garbage and needs to be scrapped for a new one. You are one of those dudes who no matter how good they do will be like "but muh urgot was better before the rework" even though they never were and the rework is fantastic

urgot has never been a ADC though.

I'm just hoping they will actually keep him ugly and don't go the trundle route where he takes steroids and gets a six pack

I've always liked to consider him a combo role of Support/Marksman. (Though I guess he's more Juggernaut than Marksman.)

He brings a lot of tools to the table that are very cool for the support role in a kill-type lane. Armor shred to help get your ADC kills, a slow and poke are straightforward for peel and suppression fire. Then there's his ultimate which is great for peeling.... but it's his passive that really takes the cake for supportive abilities. Reducing enemy dps makes trades in your team's favor.

(So basically a sort of a Debuffer, who's role is not to help your allies, but encumbrance your opponent. I also envisioned Trundle as a similar role to be fair.)

I think I'd like to see his shield be more of a share-type and his ultimate retain it's peel functionality... but I also kinda think it'd be cool to see some dps sharing like Knight's Vow, where the risk is that you'll take extra damage, but that you'll basically be a meatshield for your target (ADC probably). I might also envision healing reduction fitting in his kit, but it's a very touchy power balance. The whole kit meshes together very well in his current form. Each ability creating a positive difference to his other abilities, without overkilling them. So it's difficult where they need to take some power and where they need to amp up some power.
