So what is it you're supposed to do against red smite bruiser Yi?

Naomi CoffeeGoat··2 votes·724 views

This guy comes at you like Usain Bolt and there's no one who can stop him diving your back line and assassinating them when he's ahead just by a bit. Red Smite reduces all damage he'll take from a target of his choice, and his on hit bruiser build gives him massive survivablility where he would normally explode and be forced to be cleanup crew on say an AD build. Hard CC just stopped working against him after a certain point and he just shrugs it off and keeps going.

Hard cc. Any snare or quick stun. What is really kind of funny is to fear Yi when Highlander active, he then promptly runs really fast away from everything. Once Highlanders down, fight.

Yi is a hypercarry. He got items. The idea of a hypercarry is that they become unstoppable with items. The idea is to win before they get enough items to be unstoppable.

I've never liked this concept, other notable hypercarries, like vayne and kog'maw and for melee perspective let's say nasus, have a glaring weakness that can be exploited, kog is squishy and immobile, vayne is all single target and low range (compared to most adc) and nasus is really easy to kite/peel in big fights,

Why should a bruiser yi (or similar champs/builds) be immune to this rule?

Yi is a melee with no escape and little to offer a team outside of damage. That's his downside

That's a fair downside I just never liked the idea of "your team didn't end the game before I got a handful of items so now you can't do anything about me" it really seems like a flawed design

You can still do things about him, they just become less effective as he gets items.

Eventually you reach a point where if he is positioned right, there's basically nothing you can do because either he will kill you or his team will. But that's the point of hypercarries.

sure a full build yi is very scary but how did he get full build? here is a thread that showcases a very solid and calculated anti-yi gameplay

Truth. I once counter jungled a Yi so hard that he didn't have devourer sated until a half hour into the game.

well in this game he had sated pretty quickly, even before me despite me being mega fed and taking multiple dragons. still it didnt help him at all, sated is overrated.

Problem with counterjungling is that people in high elo tend to to be smart enough to overcome counterjungle

AyRe CoNteMpT1 votes

there is no way to overcome it. its physically impossible.

if you are stronger than your enemy jungler, you can control the jungle and you can get vision and camps on him and the only way he can get back is through ganks which are nothing more than cheesing when you are behind.

Idk that Id sated is overrated but if you are against Yi with devoured and can either punish the farm style or just get ahead of him in build through counter jungling, you can tilt the matchup. Yi needs farm, if you take his camps, he falls behind. If he shows top but you aren't there, invade his jungle, vice versa for bot. If he shows top and your top, counter gank and deny the kill, thus denying the gold.

Honestly ive only seen Shyvana beat it or you just have a really good team fighting comp.

Both Yi and Shyvana love to farm. I'd imagine a match with both of them jungling is a no gank till 20 game.

This is a poor joke.

Stun?

I had already stated. He doesn't care about Hard CC. All it did was hinder him a little and he still caught up with his ult and q.

I don't want to do it, don't force me to do it.... but if you are trying to tell me that "Yi doesn't care about stuns", you are forcing my hand to check your stats because no one with even modest level of stats would argue that level of nonsense.

Yi is incredibly vulnerable to stuns. I would even say he is the most vulnerable character when it comes to stuns.
