Idea to Let New Entrants Into a Game with a Disconnected Player

Disconnection is a huge epidemic in this game.

One d/c can single-handedly turn a winning game into a lost one.

My idea is simple:

Create a "fill-game queue".

Players would queue to fill and you'd take that d/c'd players EXACT Champion... same items, gold, runes/masteries, same everything.

Could work where the queue pops up with the details of the Champion you'd be replacing, so if you don't feel comfortable with a certain Champion or Role, you could 'pass' and wait for a different option.

The queue could provide a tiny bonus IP incentive.

Fresh d/c's would be immune from replacement for a small period of time to give players the chance to re-enter the match.

I prefer a system something like DOTA has in place. After 5 minutes of a disconnect/failure to connect, you get a 'Safe To Leave' option with no Leaverbuster-esque/or stat penalty. With a system in place to prevent LP abuse in ranked to prevent intentional mid-game 'dodges'.

Not a bad solution but no fun, so many games would be forfeit this way, my system encourages players to finish the match (and on equal footing).

I've thought of this before, and the the only issue with this system is that the player who leaves can no longer join back to the game. If they did not manually disconnect, then its unfortunate for them. If, however, you do let people back into games, what happens to the player who decided to fill? Do they get kicked out and sent back into the queue? If that's the case, I think that it would be very hard to find players who are willing to play in that queue.

True that is an issue. Which' why I proposed a "waiting period" before New Entrants are permitted to replace disconnected players. This' to give disconnected players a reasonable amount of time to reconnect. They wouldn't be able to reclaim their spot if too late, they'd just be dropped which would also eliminate troll-dc'ing and returning for reward. Win-win.
