As far as I can tell, there isn't much difference between Bronze players and Silver players

I'm unranked at the moment because I don't feel like I'll be ready for ranked until I have at least 200 wins under my belt and decent CSing skills. But a lot of the players I'm grouped with in normals are Bronze or Silver, but as far as attitude and play style go, they're all pretty similar. What is the main discrepancy between Bronze and Silver?

in game both are pretty shit but there is a big difference between them on the forums.

bronze- apparently they all have a high elo alt and go on their bronze account for "fun"

silver- apparently know everything about the game and try to give opinions on champions they never play, bronze do this too but maybe on a lower scale?

I've learned (I'm silver 5) that the higher you go the worse they get... "I'm silver 3 stfu noob you're silver 5"

The difference is most silver players are massive assholes and flame a ton. Now multiply that by cancer and you've got Bronze.

I laughed out loud at this.

bronze = they're newbs. silver = bunch of ragers who are entitled to be in plat because they only lose due to "noob team mates"

You can expect silvers to at least have approximate knowledge of how to play the game.

No. That title goes to Platinum players.

I still make the same mistakes that I made in Silver I-III that I make in Gold V, and I catch the opponent making the same mistakes that I've learned to take advantage of in each division as well.

I don't think there is that big of a difference, down here we're still learning how to take advantages of gameplay situations we're put in. You probably need to hit Platinum or high gold to start really seeing a difference, such as a team synergy beginning right at champ select along with an expert(said loosely) gameplay knowledge.

proves how much, or how little, you know about statistic then.

Bronze, Silver, and Gold is complete garbage.

Platinum is slightly less garbage.

Low Diamond (Diamond III - V) is trash.

Actually, you know what.... it's North America, just be willing to admit that everyone sucks. And it's not even their fault.

Their are sutle differences in game that add up to make them strictly better than bronze. Like in my last game a support Leona did auto attack resetting to kill a ward. I also noticed people are csing better, they are taking jungle camps if they aren't the jungler aswell. The shot calling is better as well with pings to dragon when they are easy to take , etc.

People in silver are slightly better. There isn't much difference between a division and the division higher, but it's an average and it adds up.

This, for the most part.

Though to boil it down to my experiences with divisions:

  • Silvers are a bit better mechanically. They tend to have a strong grasp of the roles they main (at least in the laning phase), and will attain slightly better CS. They're less likely to "feed" against a skilled player.
  • Silvers have a better understanding of objectives, and the importance there of. They're not very good at prioritizing objectives yet, and don't always recognize openings when they arise, but they have a more concrete understanding of their importance.
  • Silvers have better map awareness. They'll ward bushes, and are more likely to see ganks incoming. They're not as on the ball here as higher ranking players tend to be, but nor are they likely to be easy kills for enemy junglers/roamers like bronze players often are.
  • Silvers are beginning to understand the importance of roaming. Their roams aren't always successful, and they're still pretty infrequent, but they get the interconnectedness of lanes on some level, and will occasionally look for openings to exploit in other lanes.

There it is a video that explains that very well on youtube, just i don't remember who did it and i can't fish it right now because i have a crappy connection.

It was "difference between all elos" i guess and is a bit more exaustive than the average comment in this thread.

Bronze 1-2 players are actually more skilled than Silver 4-5 players believe it or not. Honestly, I would rather this ranking system have everybody start out at 0 Elo, then I would regard it as a fair system. I try to play the statistical « farm via match-making/composition » strategy these days... (i.e.: queue-dodge any & every queue where chances of a loss is very high or near-guaranteed).

Match-makings where I've found it's actually better to queue-dodge than waste time & lose LP anyway :

  • Anybody on my team is still in provisionals (especially if they have a negative W/L-ratio)
  • When my team's composition has absolutely no wave-clearing capability (talking about wave-clearing from a safe distance)
  • When everybody on my team has hard-counter-picked themselves (I don't care if they're plats on my team I'm still dodging)
  • Any significantly negative W/L-ratio player on my team or if any of my team-members have more than 60 losses to wins in their W/L-ratio
  • When the enemy team's composition is so broken that it's obvious that my own team is clueless as to how to put a decent one together
  • They pick Diana (immediate queue-dodge as my way of saying screw you for picking her)

Bronze- "Unskilled" (notice "") Silver- "Unskilled" with an ego Gold- May be Good with an ego Platinum- Are definitely good if they could get over their ego Diamond- Good and getting over their ego Master- ??? (The end game filled with thick fog)

Haha this seems to be pretty true. As a silver player for 3 seasons, I can say silver is filled with assholes (I am one of them). The Platinum comment does seem legit. I have been randomly playing a lot of plat players lately either in team builder or ranked 3s and have been beating up on most of them pretty badly. Don't get me wrong, mechanically they are really good and if they get fed at all it is over. But it seems like they just assume they are going to get fed because "their plat and were Gold/silver/bronze". Idk i focus a lot more if I am playing a plat player rather than someone my own skill level or lower.

I can say I never beat diamond players. If enemy team has a diamond player and we don't its pretty close to 100% chance of loss :(.

As a player who climb from Bronze 1 to Gold 5, there is an actually difference in skill; it just might not be evident in the laning phase.

Low Silver is still pretty much Bronze, but as you move to high Silver, you find that players become more difficult to beat in lane. Most of them knows to play defensively when they are behind, and actually might go for objectives instead of kills.

When I queue with my lower ELO friends, I often find myself the only one at an objective waiting for my team to start ending the game.

In short, Silver players are somewhat better playing when behind and can end games if the opportunity presents itself. While Bronze players often only have one speed, and they obsess over kills, dragons, or barons rather than winning the game.
