DoT and buid-up damage mages aren't feeling too good right now

Dunno if I'm just not building right yet or what, but the New Runes just don't feel very good on mages that ramp up their damage over time. The burst nuke mages and assassins are all getting a MUCH higher benefit from the new system, my slower DoT and sustained damage mages don't even feel viable right now.

Its riot saying "we dont want low tempo champions". Its not "fun to watch" and "nobody likes to play them".

tbh some runes simply need changes STILL; Scorch should be a % of damage dealt instead of a base (which would allow it function for DoT mages with some clunk), heal/bonus damage in the red tree needs to be buffed to be of the same power level as the lethality rune. (%damage to HP with a timed burst heal and flat damage+scaling added to abilities) Aery needs to work with DoTs by applying his damage once, then 1/3 every 0.5s (as well as having a constant cooldown instead of making his cooldown slower the further away you are). Arcane comet needs to ACTUALLY hurt.

Regardless the problem with blue tree is that to riot mages and supports are synonymous. Riot couldnt just have the white tree be "supports" and have; Yellow = marksmen/ADC Red = AD/Assassin Blue = Support/Mage Green = Tanky White = Utility

Further, theres just... disparity. The runes dont have a stable power level, and thats the sable truth. Many runes are VERY strong (such as the lethality one) where others are very weak (scorch).

This whole thing has been a thorn in my side with LoL for years now. Riot consistently shows favoritism to the champions and playstyles that make for fast-paced streams and tournament plays, and mostly ignore anything else. I like methodical back-and-forth gameplay personally, but Riot and I don't ever really seem to see eye-to-eye on what is "fun" gameplay. I hate exploding to death before I can even react to it, but the people who make the decisions think that sort of thing is "fun"... >_>

Better get used to playing warwick then. Methodical back and forth gameplay, takes time to scale up with dark harvest before actually hurting....

Riot just needs to take a step back and stop trying to produce a SHOW instead of a game. They might as well start turning LCS into a WWE type thing with storylines and heel teams who shit talk.

Mmm-hmm. They really don't ever feel like they care a bit about the non-competitive people who don't care about or follow tournament play.

Yeah, the main groups of champions I'm concerned about are some mages (like the Old DFT users) and a bunch of Fighters that relied on Fervor of Battle, Like Warwick etc. Some of those can use Press the Attack well, like Renekton, but others can't.

Warwick and renekton are both capable sheen users though. Any and all sheen users have dark harvest, which does very high damage once scaled.

It's probably because everyone is even squishier than usual from loss of defensive runes making it a bit easier to die to burst and a bit harder to sustain dmg.

The resolve stones hardly cut it and that's likely intentional because for variety sake everyone shouldn't have to off spec resolve. Maybe resists or hp should be increased across the board. With maybe slightly stronger resolve runes.

.. However. I am having more fun in this explosive meta personally.
