Can we get another CDR item that is heavy on AP, now that DFG is gone.

Riot removed the best AP item in the game and replaced it with another high AP item, BUT they didn't put any CDR on it. Right now if you buy the standard build you're going to want as much AP as possible to maximize that incredible passive and also that's simply what mages do, stack AP. For champions who don't buy or , they're left with 0 AP/CDR items. Champions who build for mana regen completely miss out on that 20% CDR. in particular are really hurting without the damage and CDR from DFG. Basically boots of lucidity are your only option and you sacrifice the mpen from sorcerer's boots, or in my case, I often build Merc treads for survivability. Another option is to just stack scaling CDR runes and be a sitting duck for the first 15 minutes of the game. Would be great to see a balanced AP item with CDR and no mana regen.

maybe a high AP and CDR are to strong of a combination for the gold value that you were getting in game.

Basically this. CDR helps every champion, but is especially good on those with low cooldown abilities, as allows them to spam attacks during teamfights and so on.

So, apparently the idea here is that if you want CDR, you need to sacrifice a fraction of your raw offensive ability (big AP items, which increase your bursting capabilities).

How? DFG had it but was op because of it's active. We could use a 100 AP item with 10% CDR that's all I'm asking for. The mage CDR items also offer mana regen, which was the whole point of the thread. Champions who don't buy mana regen items are fucked.

the fact ap items are all 20 but with sub 100AP, should show you that it a power gating system.

Mage itemization is anyway the best already, we dont need to buff them.

As you can tell, there's a lot of trade-offs in this game.

Getting 40% cdr and high mana isn't easy, nor is it always supposed to be. Athenes+Morello, for instance, give you 40% cdr but doesn't give a lot of damage in the early game.

I wouldn't mind a cdr+AP item, but I think it would have 15% cdr at the most. Probably would be 100 AP too.

Can y'all please reread the part where I mention I want a CDR item without mana regen and that isn't a straight up support item? We need CDR items for mages that don't need mana regen.
