A reasonable Fiora nerf suggestion

Make her Lunge not target unseen enemies.

For example, if an enemy ducks into a bush, and Fiora lunges towards them while still remaining outside the bush herself, she should not target them if she can't see them.

Her ability to target unseen enemies is just some extraneous power that denies another form of counterplay by her opponents in the top lane.

Make her Q not target unseen AND stealthed champions. Make her Riposte not shoot its projectile if she doesn't parry anything (not even autoattack/dot tick/anything)

Ackelope15 votes

I like the Riposte change idea, I mean, how can you redirect an attack that doesn't exist?

You have a lot of upvotes, which is silly because YOU'RE the one saying something that makes no sense. A riposte is a counter attack performed with your own sword after a parry, not some weird move where you smack the opponents sword and make it bounce into their own face.

Of course you can perform a riposte against air, it's just a normal sword swing that happens to be called a riposte because it's used immediately after a parry. The game rewords you for performing a riposte right after parrying hard cc with an even more effective strike because you are exploiting an 'opening' of some kind, but it still works to a lesser extent even without parrying anything at all because it's really just a sword swing.

Ackelope1 votes

I didn't actually know the definition, so thanks for the enlightenment! However, I believe I'm still correct, at least if you want to be technical. A riposte is, as you stated, a quick thrust directly following a parry. Of course, you can't make a quick thrust following a parry, unless there's a parry to follow up on. And to parry, there has to be a weapon or attack you are defending yourself from, so of course, while you can make a sword thrust without being attacked, it is not a riposte unless it's directly following a parry, so it wouldn't be accurate, in that case.

the lunge shouldn't be an automatic attack on an enemy in range. it stupid. no skill required.

Satanstein2 votes

Wait, that thing's automatic? Are you serious right now?

MunchCrunchLunch1 votes

yes. the lunge will hit an enemy if they are in range. you don't have to click on the. you just lunge in their direction and you don't need to be that accurate as even if they are in the corners they will still get hit

The Sword Saint1 votes

Lunge is worthless when used just for its own damage, it does less damage than an auto attack on its own. It's only value comes from the freely controlled mobility and being able to proc vitals

MunchCrunchLunch1 votes

the lunge is an auto attack tho if it hits a vital. thats most of fioras damage

Narsicus2 votes

No, its a skillshot that hits the first enemy champion.

The Sword Saint1 votes

Don't be ridiculous, if it was targeted people would whine even more and it wouldn't fulfill its purpose as a tool to precisely reposition or to proc vitals.

AsphodelNext1 votes

You could maybe force it to be like a Victor laser or a Rumble ult, except you command Fiora to dash to the origin point before it goes off.

WoonStruck3 votes

How about we make the slow on Riposte scale with levels so she can't chase for vitals when using the ability offensively against its purpose.

How about Q resets when it hits a champion, not a minion.

Not getting its cdr on minions would a) make it a useless ability to cs with and b) severly limiting her ability to catch/chase.

And if it still got the CDR on minion kills instead?

Currently she's Irelia without any of the drawbacks. The most prominent being non-reliance on attackspeed itemization or sheen procs.

Except she's not irelia, she's an entirely different champion, what the fuck? Let's see well Irelias passive gives tenacity, Fioras gives %ho damage. Yup definitely the same there. Q Irelias is a large range point and click dash that resets if it kills, Fioras is a short range free cast dash that reduces cd upon hitting a target, only thing similar is both can potentially be spammed. Irelias w gives passive healing and a true damage active, Fioras is a skill shit with a conditional stun, definitely the same there. E is a point and click stun/slow vs an attack speed burst, so similar /s. I don't even need to explain how there rs are different, so how are they similar?

They are both melee with sustain and gap closer. They are basically the same champion.

Fiora passive is irelia W. Gives sustain and true damage. While irelia can farm under tower and have sustain vs creeps, fiora play style favor trades with her. Fiora still is better because of the move speed. IF you consider matchups with slows (no hard cc) in the top lane, fiora passive is better than irelia W and passive.

Q - Q - Both gap closers. Irelia is better for farming but still she eats up more mana. Fiora can disengage with it and her scaling in late game is better than irelia and will deal more damage if you focus on a champion (cd refund). Fiora Q is way better.

FioraW - E - IRelia - CAN be a hard CC if you are losing the trade. Fiora damage is better. The slows are almost the same (50-60%). Irelia has more CC in the skill (max rank), fiora has a slow or a stun that is stuck in 1.5 seconds (higher CD and skills shot) that soaks up damage AND reduces the target attack speed. Early and mid game fiora parry is way better. Irelia is a point and click skill. Fiora has a better utility spell

The only thing that is a bit different is their ults. Fiora trades damage for more movespeed in her passive, giving more constant power instead of a short burst of damage with high CD. Turning her a better duelist in a game that point and click CC is being removed.

After all that, fiora still has her E in the power budget. That is a slow, attack reset, a critical and gives more attack range.

While you build triforce on irelia for some damage and short burst, fiora can rush tiamat/titanic that gives her a better wave clear.

Fiora has more damage that doesn't fall off (max % true damage... yay..), more sticking power (more CC, more move speed, can dash any time anywhere.

Fiora is a better irelia.

I'd rather have the Q reset on minions be lower, like half of what is on champions.

No it's not, it's still a shitty idea. Her q isn't what needs nerfing, it's her only way to get close, it needs its low cd.

IceKingChernobog3 votes

another reasonable netf is to give her the ekko treatment, gut her base damage on skills but increase the scalings so she cant build pure tank and do a stupid amount of damage. Also let her grand duel ult be proced if she hits all 4 vitals or lands the killing blow. but gets cancelled if she dies, it's a duel for a reason

IntakiNine2 votes

Her base damage on skills is gutted already. Her max rank Q does less damage than an auto attack, her W does negligible damage, her E is literally nothing but AD scaling, and her R scales hard on building AD.

Ackelope1 votes

make her passive a little more rewarding when building ad, but much less rewarding than going tanky? I mean, I'm not exactly sure how I'd want to go about that, but it could be a place to start.

Critmaster Garen2 votes

op, i think youre making the most sense ive seen in a long time. even when i first started playing her post rework, that was something that surprised me. i actually opened up a thread about it way back.

AATTRROOXX1 votes

Kindred has this, so yes.

Rendarkan1 votes

Why not just nerf the people screaming nerf when nerfs aren't needed and tell them in the patch notes to get over it and learn to counter play?

I mean... Why not just lower her base AD and force people out of the tank build.

GenghisEmo1 votes

Well, nerf her %Hp True damage by a bit? And i mean by a bit.

This way, she isnt a tank that deals ADC loads of dmg.

And she still duesl, so a more skilled Fiora will still take strong leads to victory, while newbs like me are punished.

YCitizenSnipsY1 votes

Lol the old Fiora's ult got changed from the exact opposite. I highly doubt that they would implement that as a way to nerf new Fiora when they actually bug fixed that type of behavior on old Fiora's ult.

Auroramancer1 votes

...what does her old ult have to do with her new lunge?

YCitizenSnipsY1 votes

Her old ult would cancel if you made your self invisible, aka walking into an unrwarded brush. They fixed this becasue they didn't want that happening. What you're suggesting on Her Q is the exact same thing, it should drop priority of you if you walk into a brush. Now if you know they did the opposite in the past for her, what makes you think they would purposely put that kind of mechanic back into her kit?

Auroramancer1 votes

They would re-introduce that drop-priority mechanic because it's involved with a non-ultimate ability...
