AKALI IS STILL REVEALED BY TRUE SIGHT

Terozu··60 votes·16,465 views

SHE JUST CANT BE TARGETTED.

THE ONLY DIFFERENCE BETWEEN NOW AND THE REWORK IS BEING REVEALED DOESNT LET ENEMIES USE TARGETTED EFFECTS LIKE KAT Q OR AUTO ATTACKS.

Her kit: https://youtu.be/eduDezPvJ2M

Now please stop making up bs.

This is like how everyone saw Zoe Portal jump and called her hyper mobile...

Thank you for clearing this up, I'd been quite worried about how it worked.

This is like how everyone saw Zoe Portal jump and called her hyper mobile...

People still do this. I'm with you though, it's stupid.

ModCaptainMårvelous11 votes

One time had someone argue that Xayah was mobile because, I shit you not, she "jumped up in the air to ult".

D357R0Y3R12 votes

is she vulnerable to AOE damage?

AirKingNeo10 votes

yes

D357R0Y3R6 votes

then I don't see the issue

Terozu8 votes

Yes.

If it is not point and click she can be hit by it.

This is basically counterplay to auto attacks.

Heres her whole kit: https://youtu.be/eduDezPvJ2M

So the fact that she is hyper mobile and is an assassin isn't enough counterplay to squishy and often immobile AA based champions? Or her current stealth for that matter? This is news to me.

Terozu2 votes

Akali is actually now less mobile then she was before, she lost a whole dash.

And the problem is that adcs can sometimes burst assassins harder in a couple autos than assassins can burst full kit.

That needs counterplay.

honestly, i dont believe she became less mobile, but rather more. she had three dashes in her old kit which required a target, now she has a dash that requires a target(E) and her ult can be used anywhere without a target. and besides in a 1v1 akali doesnt use all of her dashes unless shes really behind.

Terozu2 votes

Akali had a blink and 3 dashes.

While ill admit her dashing is now more unpredictable, she has less mobility.

Her only guarenteed mobility is her ult.

Chembaron Yamada6 votes

??? How is her E not guaranteed mobility?

Terozu1 votes

You mean the one where she has to hit the target with a skill shot?

Chembaron Yamada5 votes

She doesn't have to. You forget the part that shooting the skillshot already lets her dash in the opposite direction.

Saying that this is no guaranteed mobility is like saying Caitlyn has no guaranteed mobility either.

SooFr0sty2 votes

Ah yes, I forgot Graves ult made his mobility tenfold.

Blades in Exile1 votes

??? How is her E not guaranteed mobility?

I'm assuming he mean the fact that you can only dash with e to a champ it hits or when it lands in her shroud.

Chembaron Yamada7 votes

Shooting the ability is already a dash, you don't have to hit anyone with it to use it as mobility.

My Waifu Vanilla2 votes

Except the dash back looks less than Aatrox's E which is only 300 units. It isn't mobility to right home about and chances are the animation of throwing the shuriken is going to make it take as much time as simply walking.

WarWork4 votes

Ahh did you only watch the skin spotlight video?

Her passive gives movement speed TWICE once while leaving the circle and another when re-entering it.

Albiet not as much as before, her W gives movement while its active

Her E has a dash back and a dash to the marked enemy

And her ult as 2 dashes

Z3Sleeper1 votes

She seems really squishy now,. I can see why they did this. Her healing is nowhere near as accessible as before and she no longer has click target burst. Seems fair to be honest.

She also seems a lot less mobile. W movement speed is down by a ton, she doesn't have infinite ult dashes anymore and the dashes she does have can now be dodged and the E re-dash in particular is very telegraphed, clearly showing a mark that she's gonna hop to. On top of that, her ult dash in particular has an actual ult cooldown now.

In exchange, they gave her a W that covers a much wider area (which also has a lower duration if you don't keep extending it by going out and in repeatedly).

As someone who absolutely detests current Akali, I approve of this rework cuz it's gonna make playing against her a lot less hell, especially in laning (no more super sustain and click target Q, which now costs 100 energy hell yea).

Raiyza8 votes

Well. Thank God for that. But still making her untargetable for that long of a duration under towers still seems a bit broken. She can juggle turret agro by herself.

I guess we'll see

Terozu1 votes

If she tries to attack you the turret can target her.

Raiyza5 votes

Yes, but its for half a second.

My Waifu Vanilla2 votes

Except that means that if she is juggling aggro on her 5 second duration shroud or however short it is (it's way shorter than 8 seconds at least at rank 1), that means she isn't hitting you at all meaning it doesn't matter. The only way the tower invisibility is going to be relevant is in 2v1 tower dives which aren't seen often enough for 90% of the playerbase.

Hyquiem7 votes

Is it just me that thinks akali looks like an anime character plus that green ninja girl from mortal combat heh.

MetalGearTeemo7 votes

Rub a little edge on it and edgy assassins mains will pay for her in droves.

We call it the Zed-Effect

Terozu6 votes

Yeah and the Ramen thing.

She probably wants to be the next Hokage.

Ionian Vulpix7 votes

Riot really doesn't like Exhaust, do they?

MOuHahaHAhahaaaa4 votes

Her position can only be revealed if a spell hits her...

Terozu24 votes

No.

If she is under turret range her exact position is revealed.

She is just not clickable.

Luxana Crowngard15 votes

Oh so you mean if you don't have a skill shot or you are auto based you can't do anything? Wow sure as hell grand design and please. It's a bigger issue than you think.

I'm sorry but SEVERAL champs have anti class damage type mitigation:

Jax Goes toward perma dodge as skills level up. Pantheon Blocks autos every 3rd skil. Fiora Can feint ANYTHING Irelia W can actually eliminate ALL damage coming at her Sivir Block incoming spells Teemo Spammable elimination of attacks XinZhao Invulnerability to champs who are not in his immediate proximity

has to blow 2 skills to secure a stun... with a big windup and tell

Pantheon Blocks autos every 3rd skil(l).

actually it is every 4 AA's or abilites, and his mana is pretty low, so unless he AA's a bunch for free, he can be harassed

Fiora Can feint ANYTHING

very true, rooting her in place as well...

Irelia W can actually eliminate ALL damage coming at her

45% - 65% =/= 100%... doesn't build any ap to make it more, reduces, not eliminates

Sivir Block incoming spells

ONE SPELL, long cooldown

Teemo Spammable elimination of attacks

Annoying, but it's teemo... he is an early lane bully, then a doormat

XinZhao Invulnerability to champs who are not in his immediate proximity

On a champion that needs to be melee to do anything remotely useful...

Z3Sleeper1 votes

Um half of these don't relate to the topic.

"Has to blow 2 skills to secure a stun"

...what does that have to do with dodge?

MOuHahaHAhahaaaa29 votes

Okay but being able to not be targeted by turrets and fountain while in her smoke bomb is an unhealthy mecanic like it or not.

Terozu4 votes

Fountain would most likely still target her the same way it can kill ulting Zilean, Tryn and Aatrox.

Koechophe15 votes

There's a video where someone hops under the fountain with akali W and is fine. It's kind of silly

Z3Sleeper1 votes

I mean, not like there's any possible use cases for that. Attacking out of stealth is instant death.

AmazoX4 votes

Great but I don't see Annie or Syndra ever beating this upcoming Akali.

Annie has Tibbers and W.

She should have minimum trouble.

have to admit though, going next to the shroud that has an assassin in it using annie's w that isnt even guaranteed to hit it if no vision is a bit too yikes for my taste*[sg-ahri-3]*

also i wouldnt really feel comfortable with randomly placing tibbers with no vision

Wimbledofy6 votes

Syndra has 3 aoe abilities and can even knock akali out of the shroud with E. Once she does that then she can ult akali.

So it's just going to be a simple skill match up, great.

WarWork6 votes

you have to know where she is in the cloud to knock her out of it sir

Wimbledofy2 votes

Well we are assuming we either know where she is or have vision of her at the time, since akali can be seen in the shroud with true sight, just not targeted. And the reason we are assuming this is because the guy I responded to specifically mentioned Syndra and Annie because they have targeted abilities, and I was pointing out that Syndra only has one targeted ability and has a way to target Akali anyways by forcing her from her shroud.

LuxannaVeritas3 votes

Thanks for stopping this paranoia before it got too out of control.

Seriously, what is up with some people? [sg-ahri-3]

CloudedLogic3 votes

Well.

I don't really care about the fact that she can be "revealed" for whatever that is worth. The thing I have a problem with is making invisibility even stronger, as it is already one of the least fair feeling mechanics in the game imo.

She can't be auto'd other than during a brief moment when she attacks (which for all I know might not be long enough for the auto to land before she re-stealths and the auto just whiffs), can't be targeted, has a huge area where she can move around in, and can re-invis multiple times.

No matter how "fair" you try to spin it as, I am guessing it won't feel fair in the slightest, just like it hardly does now.

JackMcSnipeyz2 votes

Does it matter? She can still sit under your turret for 5+ seconds while being untargeted. The only way to reveal her position is spam AoE and get the shimmering effect.

Terozu1 votes

Yeah thats already how her shroud works.

JackMcSnipeyz2 votes

Current akali cant shroud under your turret, true vision also shows her, it's a lot stronger, my only issue is her new ability to juggel turret aggro UNDER YOUR OWN TURRET ALONE, how do you counter that as an immobile squishy champ? Espacially with her mobility and disengage.

DuskDaUmbreon1 votes

You don't counter it as an immobile squishy champ, except by using your AoE.

You know, which is actually still more than you can do against basically every other assassin in the game.
