Is there a reason the game closes out when you're afk for too long?

So if something comes up that I have to take care of, and I go afk, why does my team have to wait another few precious minutes while i close the game out and reload? What exactly is the purpose of this?

Because for some reason they still have the shittiest game client known in the fucking universe.

very true..the only logical excuse I can come up with would be less network being used on the game? (Assuming thats a thing) but other than that..just auto mark the player as afk and take away his FF vote until he is active again..
